Article name
[edit]SHould this page be called Michael Mantler?? Also, it needs wikifying, and according to his website he moved to the USA in 1964. Tim Fellows 10:22, 24 December 2005 (UTC)
yes, the page should be called Michael Mantler, don't know how to do it, though, nor how to wikify - somebody else?
he moved to USA in 1962 (to New York in 1964) ..... and that's exactly what it says on the website (see bio) Ernste Musik 13:18, 24 December 2005 (UTC)
Moved it to Michael Mantler and yes, it was 1962. Boston is apparantly in the USA!!! Also wikified first two paragraphs. Should probably also be categorised - look at other jazz musicians for examples of categories. Tim Fellows 19:14, 24 December 2005 (UTC)
A good bit of this page seems to be cut and pasted from mantlermusic.com. Unless express permission to distribute this content under the GFDL or a GFDL-compatible license is granted, this content must be rewritten or deleted from Wikipedia. --Dystopos 00:26, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
- In addition, the article needs to be cleaned up considerably — wikified, lots of capitals made lower case, etc. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 16:49, 6 May 2006 (UTC)
I am the author of the material included from my own website mantlermusic.com - the use of all material is expressly permitted (and I have no idea what a GFDL or a GFDL-compatible license is -- nor, unfortunately, the time to find out - any help if this is necessary?) -- Michael Mantler — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.202.182.247 (talk • contribs) 21:09, 16 June 2006
Is it really necessary (and in the spirit of Wikipedia?) to include seemingly irrelevant and certainly not specific to this article, very basic links to items such as place names: United States (!), Hamburg, Berlin, etc., or instruments: violin, keyboards, etc. Isn't that overdoing things a bit? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.0.252.226 (talk • contribs) 21:44, 20 June 2006

--> instructions at the GFDL link are incomprehensible to me. As the above says, permission is granted. I really don't care. Maybe somebody can put a copy of this license into this mysterious GNU etc etc section? Thanks. Over and out. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.211.29.56 (talk • contribs) 14:57, 26 June 2006
"I really don't care." As if we needed another reason to love this man! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.138.235.243 (talk • contribs) 19:33, 31 July 2007
