Phone call to Kevin Phelan
[edit]I am surprised the current article makes no mention at all to the allegations over the phone call to Kevin Phelan. If not given it's own section under "Controversies", it should at least be incorporated into the section "Investigation by Moriarty Tribunal", as most of these allegations relate to that. O lockers (talk) 12:19, 2 April 2013 (UTC)
Just for the record, I added something about the phone call controversy. If anybody would like to add more information or make any necessary changes, please do so. O lockers (talk) 08:09, 18 April 2013 (UTC)
Bureau of Fraud
[edit]"Lowry rejected the Moriarty report, claiming that it was flawed and that the assumptions and conclusions that Justice Moriarty arrived at were totally baseless. Nonetheless the Criminal Assets Bureau and the Bureau of Fraud were called in on 29 March 2011 to begin investigating his finances.."
Is that Bureau of Fraud the same as Garda Bureau of Fraud Investigation? Harfarhs (talk) 21:26, 22 June 2016 (UTC)
Chairman of the party
[edit]"Lowry is a former Chairman of the Fine Gael political party and was Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications between 1994 and 1996.."
"Lowry was first elected to Dáil Éireann as a Fine Gael TD for Tipperary North at the 1987 general election and in 1993 he became Chairman of the Fine Gael Parliamentary Party.."
I imagine the post of chairman of a political party itself would be based at the national offices of the party, and is different from that of the chairman of the parliamentary party who would surely be based at the parliament. If so surely it is unlikely that Lowry held both positions, even at different times? Perhaps someone with specialist knowledge of Fine Gael would care to comment.
