Contested deletion
[edit]I am not the author of this page, but a quick web search indicates that this person is a well-renowned scholar. The problem here would seem to be a lack of sources, rather than a lack of notability. Of course, there is still the question of WP:BLP. — Mr. Stradivarius ♫ 17:29, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, there's no doubt to my mind that he's a notable scholar. Since your comment User:Scientizzle has added a reference which verifies some of the statements and establishes the subject's notability in WP terms. It would be even more useful being able to cite some prefatory matter from Latin Learning and English Lore, a collection of articles in honour of Michael Lapidge, but I don't have it to hand.
