Something
[edit]I was so sad to hear about Michael Kamen's death. One hopes always that good things are there to last and good people are always there. What can I say: "Thank you for the music"! --85.180.103.156 05:18, 13 October 2005 (UTC)
Minor Removal
[edit]"His successes include his work with Pink Floyd, David Gilmour, Roger Waters (he is one of the few people to have been invited to work with both former Pink Floyd members, after their acrimonious split), Eric Clapton, David Bowie, Eurythmics, Queensrÿche, Rush, Metallica, Queen, Herbie Hancock, The Cranberries, Bryan Adams, Sting and Kate Bush"
I have removed "Queen" from this list, as Kamen never actually worked with them. The misunderstanding rests in the fact that Kamen wrote and conducted the orchestral score to the film Highlander (1986), whilst Queen wrote and performed the SONGS in that film. Their work was done separately, and no collaboration of any sort took place. 62.238.92.181 14:43, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
- Well, another anonymous editor put it back in, and rightly so. The credits to "Who Wants to Live Forever" list Kamen and May as arrangers of the orchestra featured in that song (live, the orchestral parts are replaced with a synth), so it's hard to maintain that "no collaboration of any sort took place". Even if Kamen did his work separately, the final product is a collaboration. Needless to say, "Who Wants to Live Forever" was a hit for Queen, so Kamen's contribution wouldn't be unimportant either. 82.95.254.249 23:30, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
Moments of Pleasure
[edit]Someone has rightly tagged the original text as POV. I am elaborating objectively on the work and I hope someone can add to/proof what I've written. This was (for pop fans) an obvious tour-de-force for Kamen (given what he started with and what was obtained in the final product), so if anyone can find and cite a review it would surely please fans of both Kamen and Bush, as well as compliment his career acheivements.
I'm sure Kamen did an "S&M" type concert with Clapton as well, that was released on DVD, should possibly be mentioned in the other works section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.169.66.172 (talk) 04:26, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
please someone add a picture of him i want his memory to be there forever so if anyone has a picture please put it on thank you
Michael Kamen
[edit]I just wanted to add (if it's not already in there) please cite his magnificient work on Tom Hanks "Band of Brothers". I could listen to it everyday for hours. Tom's new series "The Pacific" (since Michael has passed on) of course had to use someone else's work - which is okay but I wish Michael could have sent a piece of heaven (music for the show) from heaven! Hope anyone reading this has heard the "Brother's" music, and if not, should find it and add it to your Kamen collection. Thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by Calvinatplay (talk • contribs) 00:17, 16 April 2010 (UTC)

Former members of Pink Floyd?
[edit]His successes include his work with Pink Floyd, David Gilmour and Roger Waters[1] (he is one of the few people invited to work with both former Pink Floyd members, even after their acrimonious split)[SNIP]. Was Gilmour ever a former member of Pink Floyd while Kamen was alive? I know Waters tried to block Gilmour, Wright and Mason's use of the Pink Floyd name, but he was unsuccessful. —71.105.243.101 (talk) 00:33, 28 March 2023 (UTC)
