Losing arms
[edit]Maybe some mention could be given to the number of times Ironside loses or lacks arms in movies, e.g. loses arms in Total Recall, loses arm in The Machinist, is missing arm in Starship Troopers...
- As well as both legs in Starship Troopers and head in The Highlander II. Not to mention all the real injuries he has received during filming: a broken ankle in Visiting Hours, dislocated jaw in Highlander II (as well as almost losing his thumb), separated ribs in Total Recall. Rayhne (talk) 14:53, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
‘Total Recall’
[edit]His fight scene isn’t that memorable in Total Recall. I forgot he was even in it.
See you at the party TotalTommyTerror!
- Have to disagree there. Richter (Ironside’s character) is one of my favorite parts of Total Recall. I admit however that considering how hard he had to chase Quaid, when they finally battle one-on-one it’s surprisingly brief! Felicity4711 01:40, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
- And he was doing that fight scene with separated ribs. That, friend, is acting! Rayhne (talk) 14:54, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

This banner has been added to aid project coordination. It was added using AWB, the automation of which could not place the banner at the top; please help by doing this manually.—Albotim 02:42, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
‘Splinter Cell’ credits
[edit]I changed the line:
he has voiced Tom Clancy’s character of Sam Fisher in the three (soon to be four) main Splinter Cell games
to
as he has voiced Tom Clancy’s character of Sam Fisher in the first three main Splinter Cell games
Ironside does not voice Sam Fisher in the upcoming Splinter Cell: Double Agent.—NEMT 22:07, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
- Yes he does
- I don’t know where you get your info, but Ironside’s doing Double Agent. Check IMDB.—Roland
I tagged the Splinter Cell: Conviction entry as needing a citation. I have not been able to find anything solid to date that confirms Ironside will reprise his role; rather, it seems there is strong speculation that he will not return to voice Fisher (based on the discussion on the Conviction page: there are several links there that corroborate this). Oobermicro7 (talk) 06:03, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
Supposedly Ironside will not be reprising Fisher in 2013 game. --Simplexxx (talk) 22:33, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
‘SeaQuest’ pic
[edit]Off topic, but can I just say that using Ironside’s pic from SeaQuest (out of all the other stuff he’s done) is extrememly hilarious. Maestro78 19:39, 10 October 2006 (UTC) maestro78
Photo
[edit]I realize Wikipedia is short on public-domain images, and no disrespect intended to the person who went to the trouble of providing this one, but the photo of Ironside for this article is sort of unflattering. Is there a better out there that we can use? Felicity4711 01:40, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
- I have tons. I'll get one. Or feel free to go to my site (http://www.michaelironsidefans.net) and choose one. Rayhne 21:13, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
- Before doing so, please take the time to read our policies on fair use and free content as addressed to in the template above to make sure the image complies. Thanks, have a nice day. Rosenknospe 09:06, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you for pointing that out. I didn't spot it earlier. I do have some public appearance photos posted there. I will asked the taker if I may post one here. I do have to ask, due to the total lack of information on Michael on the web, why can't my informational site for him be included here?Rayhne (talk) 21:38, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you for taking the time ;D Fair use images and free use images without sourcing informations are quickly removed, and I'd regret it if you got your image deleted without even knowing why. About your site, policy says no links to personal sites and open wikis are to be included in External links sections. The exception would be if Ironside himself endorsed your site in any way, making it official, which you say yourself is not the case; so I'm afraid you can't include it here. I know it can be frustrating, but you still can expand this article and get the credit for it. I expect you find the information you publish on your site on the Internet or by reading papers; you can do the same here, only you have to provide the source. See why this is important at Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons. Hope this helps, and happy editing. Have a nice day, Rosenknospe (talk) 12:30, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you for the explanation. I was getting confused as to why the site was removed. I thought it meet the guidelines but I guess I misread something. I will properly cite the photo when I post it this weekend. Since I already post the information I find on Mike to my MI wiki, I don't plan on posting here as well. Rayhne (talk) 19:55, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
- Uploaded picture. Hope I did the crediting okay. If not, let me know and I will fix it. It was taken at the 2004 London Film and Comic Con by a friend, who gave me permission to upload it. Rayhne (talk) 01:02, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
- Excellent job. I have added the summary template on the picture page, please check it and add the name of the author. You might also want to expand the other info, especially the date. The rest is okay :D It's been a pleasure to talk with you. Have a nice day, Rosenknospe (talk) 14:17, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
Amputee?
[edit]I'm pretty clueless about this actor and have only seen him in the Machinist, is he an amputee himself or does he just happen to portray these parts well? I think an explanation should be provided on the page Moustan 86.10.97.187 (talk) 15:53, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

CnC3 - Not just voice acting
[edit]In the video game Command and Conquer 3, Ironside actually played the character in the cutscenes. Thus, shouldn't his work in CnC3 be noted as acting rather than voice acting? —Preceding unsigned comment added by OVRKLL (talk • contribs) 21:57, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
Keeps in character
[edit]" who keeps in character between takes." This guy must be scary as hell on the set. Most of his characters are people you wouldn't want to meet at all... ever! Can be get a citation that he keeps in character between takes? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.121.64.72 (talk) 09:06, 5 June 2009 (UTC)
Description of roles in introduction
[edit]The introduction states that Ironside plays "villains, "tough guy" heroes and amputees," but also "sympathetic characters". Couldn't it be said that, according to a general definition, a "tough guy" hero IS a sympathetic character? And an amputee could obviously be a sympathetic character or an unsympathetic character. I also agree with Moustan's earlier entry stating that the amputee part is confusing (see above). Forgive me if I have misunderstood something; this is what jumped out at me at a glance. --RainbowWerewolf (talk) 01:49, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
Facial Scar
[edit]Since I first saw him on V as a child, I was always intrigued by the scar he has on his temple. Any information on how he got it or what it was from? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.243.33.24 (talk) 05:47, 19 February 2010 (UTC)
Burn Notice
[edit]Added a small line entailing his brief involvement with Burn Notice this passing week, citation and all. Cheers. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.99.110.183 (talk) 15:02, 8 June 2010 (UTC)
His facial scar.
[edit]To whomever asked about his facial scar, the story I have most often heard is that he became intoxicated and fell through a plate glass window and was cut there. I don't know that to be true, but I read that in an article about him once.

Lotsa redlinks
[edit]Quite a few redlinks in the article. Are all those genuine or can some be made into working links to appropriate articles by another name?
And on a not-so-serious note, can this article be added to Category:Fictional amputees? He sure has played enough guys missing arms. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 4.254.86.87 (talk) 01:41, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
semi protect?
[edit]According to messages on the man's Yahoo group, there's been some vandalism going on here. Semi-protect the page? It looks fine right now. 4.249.63.234 (talk) 23:58, 21 May 2011 (UTC)

Interview on Nerdist
[edit]Michael Ironside was on Nerdist Podcast this week. he talked candidly about his career, life, children and cancer. Perhaps this could help with citations needed? 4.249.96.6 (talk) 01:13, 04 December 2014 (UTC)
- Anybody who is a fan should watch that: I saw the Strombo interview but there are things in this one that he didn't talk about there. And he says he can't do comedy... *Gush* I just love this man. 108.18.136.147 (talk) 23:24, 9 July 2015 (UTC)
official website
[edit]It's here http://michaelironside.net/ but I wish somebody could get word to him that the Contact form doesn't work. Just says "please wait a moment" and gives you the spinning wheel. I don't know if it's the Captcha code (which I've had trouble with on some other sites) or what. 108.18.136.147 (talk) 14:53, 9 July 2015 (UTC)
Nuremberg movie ribbons upside down
[edit]In the "Nuremberg" movie Michael Ironside is wearing his ribbon rack upside down or certainly out of order. Why is this? The character he portrayed, Col. Burton Andrus, was a disciplinarian and would not have been so shoddy in uniform wear. 75.4.34.74 (talk) 21:56, 27 August 2020 (UTC)
