Twin Towns
[edit]Do the twin towns apply to the whole borough or just to Bury itself. -- Mariocki talk
The twin towns 'belong' to the Metropolitan Borough of Bury - some were 'inherited from the constituent towns in 1974 when the MB was formed eg Angouleme - Bury and Tulle - Prestwich. Others post date the 1974 authority. Jimet talk —Preceding comment was added at 13:43, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
Holcombe, Bury
[edit]Could someone from the Bury area verify what the status of Holcombe, Bury is. Is it in Lancashire, Ramsbottom, Bury, or Greater Manchester? The contents of the article point to all four at present. Jhamez84 14:17, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
Of course Holcombe is in Bury, but next to Ramsbottom, and hence in Greater Manchester. The postal address IS Lancashire, but it is not in the administrative county. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.149.182.48 (talk) 18:20, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Greater Manchester County Council Arms.png
[edit]Image:Greater Manchester County Council Arms.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Map of the Borough showing the boundaries of the 6 constituent towns?
[edit]I think this would be a good map to include, but I have not been able to find such a map. The individual towns have their own articles, but they do not show the boundaries either.
The Bury Council website has a collection of online maps https://www.bury.gov.uk/online-maps which give a lot of other info and boundaries, but not the town boundaries (that I have been able to find).
Google Maps shows the boundaries one town at a time if one searches by the town name, but I cannot see how to combine them. Am I missing something? FrankSier (talk) 13:50, 4 November 2024 (UTC)
