Hi, I was thinking about nominating this article for Wikipedia:Did you know. I wanted to use the fact about her having written the oldest medical text known to have been written by a woman. However, currently it's unclear what source that statement is from. Is it covered by the first footnote?--Carabinieri (talk) 13:54, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
"was a Greek physician and author of the oldest medical text known to have been written by a woman"
N. This is not true. Scientific standard is: we don't know a gender of the author, not even if "Metrodora" really is the name of the author. The whole article reflects just on view of the Metrodora reception. But not the scientific one. And the worst: from here this spreads as "truth" all over the other Wikipedias and beyond. -- Marcus Cyron (talk) 18:55, 3 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
