This is obviously just an advertisment for the Methodist Boys' school. A pupil obviously redirected "Monkey boys school" to here as a joke.
Floral Words
[edit]I removed plenty unneeded floral words which are used to describe the school, infringing the NPOV... but i'm figuring out how to edit the history section, which I haven't touch... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by --60.52.116.123 06:30, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
Enough Junks
[edit]I think this very writeup by you spoilt the real good name of the school. So much so of democratic practice. I think you should make this a place where it is open to people to comment. I think only with the bad ones in and well you improve on it will help the school. The way I see it from an old boys' point of view, you have much to pick up from both ms moey or mr loo. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 218.111.201.182 (talk) 13:32, 12 May 2007 (UTC).
More Updates
[edit]I am an MBSian too. I am also involved in updating this page. However, I dare not touch the history section, which mostly is taken from one of our school publications, I think it was from the Centenary Magazine. Thats why the language is flowery. Under the Past Principal's section, Mr. Wong's name keeps appearing although that section is for PAST principals. Mr Wong's name already appears as the principal on the top of that page under the school badge.
Fair use rationale for Image:MBSKL.jpg
[edit]Image:MBSKL.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:27, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
References
[edit]Please read WP:CITE. Note that double brackets [[like this]] are used for internal (wiki) links. You may also want to check the various citation templates that are available. Also, please read WP:RS, self published material is generally deprecated as a main source of iformation for an article subject. DMcMPO11AAUK/Talk/Contribs 15:04, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
Too much padding, not enough sources
[edit]This article contains too much padding and not enough sources. If I were to remove all information for which no reference or a self published source is offered, there would be no article. Here are some suggestions:
- Trim all the uniform stuff. It takes up much too much space for its overall significance.
- The library is notable by virtue of its age and the fact it gets visited by other educational institutions. Find references relating to such visits. If a foreign school visited it, is there a reference on that school's website, or in a newspaper article?
- You don't need to include all 3 forms of the school anthem. One version will do.
- The table of house information takes up much less space, but conveys the same information
- You need to say what sportsmen, it brigade and archive authority boards are.
- List of principals - you don't really need all this
- Eminent old boys - maybe only include those that are notable enough to have WP articles about them.
- Find references - you need a lot more references for the amount of text that you have.

Suggestions by Peerreviewer Javascript Program
[edit]The following suggestions were generated by a semi-automatic javascript program, and might not be applicable for the article in question.
- Consider adding more links to the article; per Wikipedia:Manual of Style (links) and Wikipedia:Build the web, create links to relevant articles.[?]
- Per Wikipedia:Manual of Style (headings), headings generally should not repeat the title of the article. For example, if the article was Ferdinand Magellan, instead of using the heading ==Magellan's journey==, use ==Journey==.[?]
- Please reorder/rename the last few sections to follow guidelines at Wikipedia:Guide to layout.[?]
- Per WP:WIAFA, this article's table of contents (ToC) may be too long- consider shrinking it down by merging short sections or using a proper system of daughter pages as per Wikipedia:Summary style.[?]
- There are a few occurrences of weasel words in this article- please observe WP:AWT. Certain phrases should specify exactly who supports, considers, believes, etc., such a view.
- Watch for redundancies that make the article too wordy instead of being crisp and concise. (You may wish to try Tony1's redundancy exercises.)
- Vague terms of size often are unnecessary and redundant - “some”, “a variety/number/majority of”, “several”, “a few”, “many”, “any”, and “all”. For example, “
Allpigs are pink, so we thought ofa number ofways to turn them green.” - “In
the year [of]1906”

Problems, anyone?
[edit][1] The school mission varies, how come? School mottos should be constant, when changing, make sure it's official and that all outdated websites be informed.
Someone should add the new houses , which are : Goh Tong (orange), Shellabear(gray) and Mori(brown). All together we have 8, including the reinstated Horley house. I myself being unable to do so because of lack of knowledge.
Under "Sportsmen", someone should add their uniform : white shirt, white pants, leather shoes and the sportsman badge. I don't know about the tie though.
The term "black shoes" should be replaced with "black leather shoes", because only junior prefects wear black canvas shoes and the seniors, leather shoes.
Update the administration, Puan Phoon is now a principal of another school, not a senior assistant. The new one being puan Majinah.
Since both sessions have merged, we may need a new topic regarding this, as it has been a topic for several decades.
Several updates will also be needed and such updates must be accurate, for many students have referred to this site for their History project on MBSSKL ( I being one such student).

Enough Please
[edit]I am not familiar with Wikipedia but I have to say that, do not include "Current Administration of MBSKL", "Co-curriculur", "Student Boards" and etc. This is not a page to promote the school. This is not Royal Sappers and Miners page, Scots Guards (what kind of bagpipes they are using, how they season their bag to be airtight) and not any army Regiment pages under Queen Elizabeth II.

Alumni Section
[edit]Raja Nor Mahani Raja Shahar Shah's name appeared in the school's pre 70s magazine. However no one is dedicated to scan it and upload it to the website of the Alumni. It is not a wild claim, however it doesn't matter to you. Names written here are only to my knowledge they have studied in the school. Who knows more than I am, you from out of nowhere? See my history of editing? Majority confined to MBSKL page only? Engaging in a public edit war? Awal Ashaari's name was written by me many years back since it was claimed by someone, told to me but it has yet to be verified until today. Yet, someone took the chance and edited his Wikipedia page, therefore strengthening the fact he once walked through this school, and his name still appears? ABSURD. Some of you people actually bought this story. While others like Teo Chiang Quan was deleted, out of the blue. Teo Chiang Quan was the president of the Alumni for two terms, responsible for KDU College and many other developments. But deleted after it was updated by me? How great? I have forgotten that sources need to be produced in order to further back the claims, but just by simply clicking some alumnus of MBSKL with dedicated pages can easily influence someone's judgement, in the case of Awal Ashaari. http://www.mbsalumni.net/mbsalumni/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=89:eminent-alumni&catid=53&Itemid=89
In the case of A. L. Henry who was voted the Best Footballer of Malaya in 1933, the links are provided below.

You have to buy this story isn't it, if I know how to insert links and edit well, I would've owned this page (sarcasm???) Still deleting? Please delete as you wish.
