Carry and Sundberg says p. 767: "its not commercially available at the present time". Have the chemical been baned or? ChristianoGh 17:21, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
It's supplied by aldrich and acros, among others. --Rifleman 82 03:28, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
"The reaction mechanism is not shown" - it's not terribly complicated, and the current reaction shown is a bit trivial. Would it be worth (for someone with the appropriate tools) adding a full mechanism for epoxidation? 131.111.195.8 (talk) 10:20, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
Pronunciation
[edit]Should the pronunciations of MCPBA be put on this page? I ask because I've heard it called mick-pee-bee-eh as well as emm-see-pee-bee-eh. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nsteinberg (talk • contribs) 16:35, 19 March 2012 (UTC)

I've never heard it pronounced, only spelled out. --Rifleman 82 (talk) 17:53, 21 April 2012 (UTC)
Eggilicious removed my pronunciation guide, and I put it back it. I figure it's useful information to know how it's pronounced (considering it's an unintuitive pronunciation). I'm on the west coast of north america, if it's a regional thing. Nsteinberg (talk) 05:28, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
I have never heard it pronounced like that. It is always just spelled out as em-see-pee-bee-ay — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eggilicious (talk • contribs) 10:38, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
- I've never heard it that way either (and I've worked as an organic chemist on the west coast, too). I don't think that pronunciation is important to include in the article, even if it was more common, because it is just jargon and trivia anyway. -- Ed (Edgar181) 12:04, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
