The names

[edit]

I see a question of how the names ought to be transliterated from modern Greek. In contrast to ancient Greek, modern Greek, or "demotic", is not phonetic. Usually it is written with the old spelling or something in between. Many of the names are Slavic in origin so they never were Greek to begin with. On the Internet one is going to see a large variety of spellings. I don't know what to do here. To make it even worse, sometimes the name is in the genitive case, as in "municipality of ..." and sometimes the nominative. I am sure this is not a new problem. I did find the site of the deme of Messini. For lack of a better plan I am putting in those spellings, which are no doubt the way it is pronounced there. If you have any other suggestions be sure to bring them up.Dave (talk) 12:17, 9 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Strange vandalism

[edit]

I got rid of some strange vandalism that was added in early August 2012...some weird shit about Gate 13 and Green Zone. Doesn't belong in this article. Skyduster (talk) 07:21, 7 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
