I'll take a look and start to leave some comments within the next few days. I am taking on board a batch of reviews, so it may be some time before I start to comment. I am also by nature a fairly slow and thorough reviewer who likes to check out sources, so this is unlikely to be quick. However, I am always willing to help out on the editing, and will make direct minor adjustments myself rather than list them. I always welcome discussion, and see the review process as entirely collaborative. SilkTork ✔Tea time 16:51, 29 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Comments

[edit]
  • Not a GA issue, but the flag icons in the tables in Premier League Darts Performances are not being used in compliance with WP:MOSFLAG and should be removed. SilkTork ✔Tea time 22:25, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Lead needs building per WP:Lead. SilkTork ✔Tea time 22:29, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • There are no images. This is not a GA fail if there are no free images available. I've looked at Flickr and couldn't find anything. Can I just have a confirmation that a decent search has been done, and there is nothing suitable available. SilkTork ✔Tea time 22:35, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • I note there has been some vandalism. As this is a BLP I am inclined to semi-protect; however, I am aware that IP accounts can add useful content. What is the view of regular contributors? SilkTork ✔Tea time 22:58, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Prose is slightly difficult to read. There is information being conveyed, but it needs a bit of working at. This sentence doesn't make sense: "King, like the 2009 Premier League Darts his start was impressive as he recorded victories over both Adrian Lewis averaging 101.39 and James Wade." Article would benefit from a copy edit. If nobody working on the article is able to do it, then someone at Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors may be willing. SilkTork ✔Tea time 23:16, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • The third paragraph of the Controversy section is cited to [1], which only covers part of the Henderson incident. SilkTork ✔Tea time 23:27, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • "King would later lose his second round match to James Wade having been booed by the crowd while throwing at double four to win the match in the deciding leg..." This is not clear. There is no source to check for the correct meaning, though I assume that it should read: "King was booed by the crowd while attempting to get a double four to win the match in the deciding leg of the second round match against James Wade; he failed, and lost. Some pundits claimed this was 'karma' after his behaviour towards Henderson." SilkTork ✔Tea time 23:33, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

On hold

[edit]

The article contains useful information on Mervyn King, though presentation and inline citation could be tidied up. I will need to check sources for accuracy, coverage and neutral point of view; however, before that the lead needs developing, statements in the article need more secure inline citation, and a decent copy-edit needs to be done to ensure the article flows better and is more attractive to the general reader. I will put on hold for an initial seven days to allow works to be done. SilkTork ✔Tea time 23:39, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator retirement

[edit]

According to their user page, User:joesayers has semi-retired from Wikipedia editing as of September 2011. Just to let you know. Cheers. Delsion23 (talk) 11:59, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Closing GAN - not listed

[edit]

There are a number of issues with the article, and there has been no work done, and no response to emails or talkpage requests to attend to the issues. I'm closing this as not-listed. The article can be nominated again, though it would be sensible to attend to some of the issues raised first. SilkTork ✔Tea time 15:45, 14 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
