Flooding
[edit]The phrase This area has long been the site of local flooding as is surrounding area Sandymount by the Grand Canal Dock doesn't make sense as the centre is 2.78km from Grand Canal Dock, 2.73km from any part of the Grand Canal, but only half a km from the sea. For that matter, does anybody have any links to news about flooding in that area? Autarch (talk) 11:07, 17 September 2008 (UTC)
- Awesome! (The accuracy of the distances). I can confirm that a large puddle forms on the left hand side of the road after heavy rain. Maybe that's what we are talking about? Sarah777 (talk) 19:26, 17 September 2008 (UTC)
- Thank Google Earth for the distances! Is that the side that the centre is on and is it on Merrion Road or Nutley Lane? I asked about the flooding because the claim of the source for the floods seems highly unlikely. Most of the flooding in Dublin I'm familiar with is due to blocked drains, heavy rain and the lie of the land. Autarch (talk) 20:39, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
