Alliance-Union universe?

Hi, Johnwcowan, thank you for your comment. The book Angel With the Sword actually goes to great lengths (in an Appendix) to discuss how the Merovingen Nights series fits into the A-U universe. In fact, Angel has one of the most complete A-U timelines Cherryh has ever published. Anyone who has the book can easily verify this. If you think it needs a specific citation in the article, go ahead and mark the article with a "citation needed" template and I'll try to put in an appropriate reference. Also, you might want to take a look at the various articles in Category:C. J. Cherryh. Some of the articles there are in good shape, and some need a fair amount of work. Angel With the Sword

Hi. A minor point, but I think it needs clarifying that Angel was published as a novel in it's own right. Merovingen Nights came along a few years later as a spin-off. The cover art you have is misleading - the novel was republished with Nights branding to coincide with the series. The original cover can be seen here: http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/c/c-j-cherryh/angel-with-sword.htm. I believe Angel should be listed separately to Merovingen Nights, though obviously linked. I would also take some issue with the description of "science fantasy" - as you have said above, the book's link into the Alliance/Union universe is very strong. Comparison with the "Swords and Planets" genre is unwarranted. Low tech doesn't equal fantasy!! Spiderdavon (talk) 20:16, 12 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've uploaded the original cover of Angel With the Sword and added a bit on the fact that it was a free-standing novel. Angel could be listed separately and linked to the series, someone just has to do it. I personally haven't read the book. Regarding the genre, I'm going to leave that until we have consensus from other editors on what it should be. --Bruce1ee^talk 06:50, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
