The Act was not “an Act of Parliament passed by the Conservative government of Margaret Thatcher“ for Acts of Parliament are not passed by government. Nor is the use of the present tense appropriate, given that the Act was long ago repealed. To say that “it was aimed to prevent foreign fishing fleets from fishing in British territorial waters“ is misleading: the vast bulk of the Act had nothing to do with that issue. Again, it is inaccurate to say that “In the Factortame case, its provisions were disapplied by the House of Lords...“.
