Article naming

Sorry User:Warren Whyte, i thought it was better to start an article only about a car that has already been unveiled. The M-Class facelift is due probably late only this year,but the Coupe is already unveiled. So when the M-Class facelift is unveiled, the redirect from Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class can be removed and you can write an article on that one. It should be like Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W222) and Mercedes-Benz S-Class (C217), only that in this case, the coupe was unveiled before the SUV facelift. You can move Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class to Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class (W166). We need the codes in order to differentiate between coupe and normal SUV. Not sure what makes User:Arado think they are two different cars - just two different body types - that happen to also have the same name. You have made this now far more complicated then needs be. The only reason why S-Class is as you mention is that there are several generations, which is not the case for GLE-Class. Warren (talk) 22:07, 14 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • @User:Warren Whyte. There was no rush. I apologize for ignorin naming poliy and for not mentioning it in the talk page. I should have done it before requesting move. But they are 2 different vehicles, even though very similar (exactly the same situation with BMW X5 (F15) and BMW X6 (F16). They are technically roughly the same car, the body is different, but the codes are also different, and BMW was wise enough not to give them the same name. The fact that the 2 GLE versions use same name makes it only more complicated, that is why i thought it is better to differentiate them by vehicle code. And the W166 GLE is still in prototype testing phase, so does not officially exist yet.--Arado (talk) 22:14, 14 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Saloon and estate C-Class have different numbers, but manage to cope with one article. The fact that one has been formally announced and one is forthcoming is no different to other car launches where different body shapes are drip-fed to market to suit marketing requirements. I see nothing is gained by splitting out the two derivatives, we will just end up repeating a lot of detail with regards to technical specifications etc. Warren (talk) 22:24, 14 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@User:Warren Whyte The code for the C-Class bodies is the same number: sedan (W 205), estate (station wagon) (S 205), China long wheelbase (V 205), and future Coupé (C 205) and convertible (A 205), so they are the same car. But Ok, there is not much use in arguing about 2 different body types of a car, so i acccept your proposal and agree with merging the 2 articles.--Arado (talk) 22:29, 14 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
