Historical record from Liverpool Echo (1961) of interest

[edit]
Newspaper clipping from the Liverpool Echo (1961) recounting the story of the capture of the Carnatic, held in the Liverpool Central Library archive.

Just thought I'd put this newspaper clipping from the Liverpool Central Library archive here. It suggests a total bounty of £500,000. I wonder if this can be reconciled by an inflation-adjusted estimate (i.e. would that make sense)? Or does this add a higher bound to the potential estimated value of the capture of the Carnatic? -- Crawdaunt (talk) 09:08, 15 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
