History, importance and current state?

I find it hard to comprehend what this institution was, what it did and and what it does. The article and the sources use all kinds of flowery, vague terms. Exactly what kind of institute is it? How many people work/worked there and what's their profession like? How was/is it funded? What research methods did they use? What training programs were/are offered? What important discoveries of communication, family therapy etc. were made and how? I suspect that it was less of a research institute but more like a think-tank, that the last noteworthy discoveries were made many decades ago and that it was a therapist training institute most of the time. --Havlicek stole the ball (talk) 20:28, 13 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
