I corrected your edit to Menominee Indian Reservation. The tribe does not "own" the reservation, it is held in trust by the federal government for the benefit of the tribe. "Own" has a connotation of fee simple lands, which is not the case for this reservation.

I know that you are trying to do a good job and make needed copy-edits, but please be very careful on your edits and the facts. Native American - U.S. relations and laws are very complex, and what is true for one of the over 500 tribes does not necessarily translate to any of the other tribes. In addition to general law (U.S. Code), there are also numerous treaties, court decisions, and other laws that affect the tribes. Regards, GregJackP Boomer! 02:57, 29 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the correction; I do know about the land being held in trust, but must have been getting tired. Owned didn't seem right and forgot to go back to it. Good to have more than one person looking at these articles. Parkwells (talk) 05:37, 29 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"In August 2015 the Menominee Indian Reservation held a vote on proposed measures to legalize medical and/or recreational cannabis." What was the outcome? Kdammers (talk) 23:35, 23 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
