Opening paragraph

The Opening Paragraph: To write that the meninges “are the membranes that envelop the brain and spinal cord of the central nervous system” is the same as saying, “… envelop the brain and spinal cord of the brain and spinal cord”, as the brain and spinal cord are the central nervous system. Changing current double speak to “…envelop the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord)”.

Presumably, this definition of meninges is a model of the human body. As i may guess that there are animals which have meninges which do other or more than just envelop the cns; but as to distinguish this here may be accurate, it may serve no other purpose other than following pedantism.

Inserted “cerebrospinal fluid sandwiching” in the defining sentence (presuming…often and usually the first sentence in a wikipedia entry defines what the entry is) so as to enable the removal of “and the cerebrospinal fluid” from the last sentence (presuming again…often and usually the importance of the last sentence in a wikipedia entry describes the entry’s importance) which is adjunctive to the meninges in its function of protecting the cns. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mr etler (talk • contribs) 00:38, 10 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I feel this page could really do with a diagram of some sort...

If the arachnoid and pia mater are called the leptomeninges, is there a comparable word used to describe the dura mater? Thanks!

I believe pachymeninges (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/Pachymeninx); however, pach·y·men·in·gi·tis (pk-mnn-jts), is also called perimeningitis (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/pachymeningitis this is good as it helps the himan body develop.

"Most important"

"Spaces" section contradiction?

This section currently states both "The arachnoid is NOT attached to the dura mater" and "the dura mater and the arachnoid separate through injury or illness." The former suggests that the arachnoid is not attached to the dura mater normally and the latter suggests that they separate only under pathological circumstances. [[Subdural space|The page about the subdural space seems to support the latter, but I don't feel like I know enough about the subject mater to resolve the conflict myself.
