Plagiarism
[edit]The figures (and some content ?) seems to be copied from the articles that are cited. The article has been created and mostly written by a single (no longer existing) editor which leads one to believe that the whole article needs to be drawn into question. I will do my best to add some non-plagiarized content, and flag content that does not meet Wikipedia standards. The editor "Yuriaap" posted the figures as if they were their own work, even though they are definitely used in other articles. JKL7794 (talk) 02:16, 9 October 2022 (UTC)
- Here's what I've found so far. It seems like most of the plagiarism that "Yuriapp" posted is from one article in particular. That source is listed below. In the Basic geometry section, the entire first paragraph is an exact quote from Box 1 of the below article. Additionally, the figure in this section is the exact same figure used in the article. In this same section, the table is copied in format and content directly from Box 2 of the below article. In the Lipid spontaneous curvature section, the last paragraph is again copied exactly from page 11 and 12 of the article. Additionally, the table in this section is copied exactly from Table 1 in this article. Also, the equation presented here in this section is directly copied from page 11 of the article, with little explanation. The figure in section 3 of Proteins can Induce Curvature is also copied from the article, along with the structure of explaining the figure in parts A, B, and C. --JKL7794 (talk) 20:49, 9 October 2022 (UTC)
- Zimmerberg J, Kozlov MM (January 2006). "How proteins produce cellular membrane curvature". Nature Reviews. Molecular Cell Biology. 7 (1): 9–19. doi:10.1038/nrm1784. PMID 16365634. S2CID 32515542.
- After some revisions, some of the seemingly plagiarized content remains. In particular, the geometry section of the wikipedia page seems to be taken straight from the aforementioned article. JKL7794 (talk) 06:53, 8 December 2022 (UTC)
