why is there two number elevens? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.193.219.175 (talk) 00:00, November 19, 2005 (UTC)

Vey large fanbase. We would like membership numbers please and when you say they had always attacted 13,000 for the current A-League, yes, but surley you don't mean from the old soccer league, that struggled to survive? Until you state what the 'V' is for, leave the bloody thing alone. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sliat 1981 (talkcontribs) 06:20, March 16, 2006 (UTC)

[Membership]

According to Tony Ising, the club's Media Manager, Melbourne Victory FC membership for Season 2005-2006 exceeded 7,200 members - the highest membership of any club in the inaugural A-League season. Melbourne Victory FC did not exist before 2004; it has nothing to do with the old NSL. Dragases 11:01, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

Please provide a link to this statement where it says citation needed. sliat_1981

---

External link added to ESPN Soccernet Statistics page for Melbourne Victory FC (Season 2005-2006) - average attendance for the season was 14157. As far as membership numbers go, Tony Ising made the statement on the unofficial MVFC forum when asked the question - nothing official, though (which is why it isn't in the main article). On talk pages, could you please sign your posts using four tildes? Dragases 09:30, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

You didn't need to add it on the link, you only needed to add it for a citation, but you can leave it there as it is a useful link. It's good now. sliat_1981

[Blueheels]

Blueheels: - Why is the capacity of Telstra dome not indicated as 56,347 as shown in www.austadiums.com.au ? - Can we add biggest way crowd to the records at 400+ on the road... Not sure where to validate thsi stat as ticktek could not verify and Aussie stadium said go talk to ticktek.

Colours of Victoria

As part of the disambiguation link repair project (You can help!), I have changed the Victoria link to Victoria (Australia), as I'm fairly sure this is what it is refering to. Please could anyone change it to the correct page if I am wrong. Thank you, mattbr30 16:17, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

Hello,

That is correct, thanks for doing so!

Are you sure that's Olympic park? It really doesn't look like it.--Sliat 1981 12:55, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

It most certainly is. I was there that day, sadly. (It might look different to you as it is usually a lot emptier when the Storm play there ;-) ) – AlbinoMonkey (Talk) 11:43, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

OK then. But seeing as we now concider over 15,000 (the crowd we had last night) as empty, I guess we'll have to move them out of Olympic park and back to telstra dome. --Sliat 1981 04:24, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

Consider: that's the first over 15000 crowd the Drizzle have had in years, and that on the back of Origin in Melbourne, while they were top of the ladder. Victory had three crowds higher than that in one season, in which they finished seventh. Infact Victory's average attendance was 14,157. I repeat, OP might look different to you as it is usually a lot emptier when the Storm play there. Emcee N 05:25, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

Youre forgetting its the first season and no ones seen it before, so naturally there'll be a lot of people. And nice try, but I'm not getting into a soccer/rugby discussion. --Sliat 1981 09:13, 16 July 2006 (UTC)

Record Win

I notice the record win has been changed to the 6-1 defeat of Chunnan in the QNI cup. I dont think this should be included as it was essential a friendly competition. If we are going to include results like that, we should have it as the 7-0 win over Kingston. Unless anybody objects, i will change it back to the 5-0 over Sydney. ElZilcho

Just to keep everyone happy, I've added a Record Victory (A-League) section. At least, until there is a consensus to keep only the A-League season results as the only ones of note. Dragases 13:12, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

Marqee

Could anyone show who is the marquee for this team?--217.26.87.7 17:21, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

As i recall, Archie Thompson was the marquee player. Emcee N 03:40, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

Record Low Attendance

Someone edited the Record Low Attendance to show the away game against NZ (at North Harbour Stadium). That's not an MVFC record. Record Low Attendance means Record Low Attendance at home, so I've reverted it. Dragases 11:51, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

Hey guys, i have moved much of the info regarding the past and current season to their own pages, as i think it was cluttering up the whole page too much, and would have continued to do so as time goes by.

ElZilcho 00:53, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

Question: Who decides who are supporters

Could you explain why V for Victory was removed. Who can I apeal this decision to

Do you have a link or reference to anything that can substantiate it's existence? If so include that and put the information back, otherwise leave it out. And sign your comments.--Hack 00:18, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

Stadium

I can't find mentioned anywhere a capacity of 28,000 for the new stadium being built near Olympic park. Can anyone reference it? Otherwise it should be changed back to "20,000", being expandable to 25,000. HorseloverFat 10:21, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

I can't find any reference to the club appealing to the Minister for Sport re increasing the crowd capacity. Can anyone reference it? Also, consider further updating the article on Melbourne Rectangular Stadium. I have updated this to reflect this article, but it may need to be further updated. Sroc 13:07, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

Once again, 58.109.59.238 has added info on Government interaction on the new stadium but has not cited references. Unless someone can insert citations, this is just speculation and should be deleted. Anyone? Sroc 12:38, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

Stoush??!!

"Kosmina was sent to the stand and later received a four-match ban from the technical area for his part in the stoush." - I take it "stoush" is an Australian slang term for a fight...? Might it not be better to use a different word, since I doubt many people outside Australia would know this word (I'm in the UK and I had certainly never heard it before)..... ChrisTheDude 12:36, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

I've changed it to "altercation". Dragases

Distance to opponents

I changed the statemnt that it is 1000's of kilometers to the nearest opponent, it is in fact "only" 720 km to Adelaide and about 1000 to Sydney. Drogo 23:24, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

Ownership structure

I came to look at this excellent article to confirm the Victory's current ownership structure. I believe that the A-League still has a major stake in the club - isn't his relevant information that should be included in this article? πίππύ δ'Ω∑ - (waarom? jus'b'coz!) 02:20, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

Very hard to find accurate information on the exact ownership makeup unfortunatley. ElZilcho 10:42, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

Cleanup & Improvement

The article has made a great start, but needs quite a bit of work to get it to a good standard. In parts it reads like a (not very well written) fan website. Take a look at the Arsenal F.C. article for an example of a really good, informative and neutral football entry. Go Victory!! Wikipeterproject 13:23, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

Feel free to go to work on it....

ElZilcho 10:46, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

I have cleaned up the article a bit. There were 2 sections about the proposed stadium where citation was needed. I cited some relevant articles from The Age and made the article a bit more neutral. Hopefully this means the clean-up tag isn't placed on the articles any more. How do I inform someone that it has been cleaned up? Raph89 11:30, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

If you believe it is sufficiently cleaned up, just remove the tag. Removing it doesn't mean it won't come back - someone might still feel it needs more work. If it's going to be taken off and put back on repeatedly though, it's better to discuss it on the Talk page (here) first. I'd like to see the Melbourne Victory F.C. page be the first A-League page get to Featured Article status, but that will probably take a bit more work(compare this page to Arsenal F.C. and you'll see what I mean).

Thanks for your work. the page is looking better than ever. Wikipeterproject 13:51, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

Don't think you need to worry about us having the first Featured Article. We've won everything else :D The Frederick 14:48, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

Squad

Daniel Visevic isn't an official squad member, more of a player who trains with the squad but they have never been mentioned, so until he's signed by the club I have removed him. Mr. Poodles 15:47, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

Records

What is the "Shortest Period Without Conceding a Goal" record? The shortest time between consecutive opposition goals? This isn't "0 minutes" and there was much more that that vs Road on 12th January 2007 anyway. I have deleted this, but can someone show this is a valuable statistic and insert a verified stat? Sroc 12:38, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

List of Players

Added a seperate section... for all past and current players.

Saves people putting Diaco as notable former player :)

Haven't had time to enter all the names... some one may wish to take it up.

Page looks much better... more neurtral...

Ive also added "Grand Finalist" in the notable appearances... here is hoping we can add Championships 1.. real soon

Kit Evolution

I've set up a kit evolution section to keep a history of the kits (hence the title). Dragases 06:51, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

Ljubo Milicevic

We just signed Ljubo Milicevic the other day. Anyone know what number he will be? Raph89 01:26, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
