Following several discussions in past years, these subpages are now deprecated. The comments may be irrelevant or outdated; if so, please feel free to remove this section.
Assessed as mid/DE-high because it is the only steam locomotive works still working in Germany and also takes orders internationally. It is therefore highly significant for the preservation of steam locomotives in Europe. The boiler for the new British steam locomotive Tornado had to be made at Meiningen because no one else could do it in the UK. |
