Early Life paragraph
[edit]The early life section seems to have been (re)written in a less than academic style. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.205.147.65 (talk) 17:48, 13 January 2022 (UTC)
- According to this diff, it was changed by an anonymous user, 14.200.117.170. Mostly likely vandalism. I have reverted that edit as WP:BLP violation.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 20:23, 13 January 2022 (UTC)
Connected contributor
[edit]Hello, I am Megan's Manager, apologies if I've gone against the rules and will ensure I identify myself as I have no intention of wanting to ensure correct information, I am hoping to right a wrong when Megan's 2nd release was deemed as an EP rather than an album so not sure how I go about that - it sounds like "Talk" is the best way to assist these issues?
See below for information regarding an EP vs an album,
Thank you Cathy
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extended_play
- An EP is 4 or 5 tracks whereas Megan's Insomnia is 8 tracks.
https://aria.azureedge.net/documents/chart-code-of-practice---2022-june.pdf Album means a Title in any format (eg physical, digital, streamed or any combination thereof) which does not qualify as a Single and which satisfies the following criteria: a recording performed by a single (or common) artist, act or orchestra (including “Best Of” compilations of material by the same artist); or an original movie soundtrack or cast recording where at least 80% of the tracks were included in that program or film; or a concept album featuring at least 80% of new recordings where the songs have been specifically recorded for the project (whether or not the recording is by various artists). 211.27.180.38 (talk) 21:48, 25 September 2022 (UTC)

- @Cathyoates: Thank you for responding here. The problem with EP vs album can be sorted at Talk:Insomnia (Washington EP), where you could propose a page move per instructions at Wikipedia:Requested moves. A consensus of editors will consider your position and either support or oppose (with counter-arguments) the move.
A more important matter is your apparent Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and possible breech of Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure. This is an important policy for Wikipedia. You have edited (irregularly) on Wikipedia since September 2007 and have only now declared a connection with one artist.
- The template above is slightly incorrect for Megan Washington and has been used inappropriately. See Template:Connected contributor (paid) for the template that relates to being a talent manager for artists on WP, which have articles or for their works. That template should be filled in with appropriate details and put on the talk pages where you have edited the related article.
- For this talk page it should be something like:
{{Connected contributor (paid)|User1=Cathyoates|U1-employer=Original Matters talent agency|U1-client=Megan Washington|U1-otherlinks=Insert relevant links, such as relevant affiliations, disclosures, article drafts written by paid editors, or diffs showing paid contributions being added to articles.}}
- The information at U1-other-links= is up to you to supply after deleting the current content. Once completed it should be placed at the top of this talk page.
According to How to disclose: On your User page (User:Cathyoates) you should also place the following template (see instructions at Template:Paid for how to fill it out):
{{paid}}
You will have to provide details of which articles you edited where you acted as a talent manager: connected contributor (paid) or articles where you edited as a relative, friend or other unpaid associate: connected contributor.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 01:53, 26 September 2022 (UTC)
Update
[edit]@Cathyoates: I have added the Connected contributor (paid) template to this talk page according to your intention expressed above. I have also removed the incorrectly applied version you supplied.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 21:38, 28 September 2022 (UTC)
Australian expatriates in Papua New Guinea
[edit]@Lancepark: Could you clarify why you categorised this artist as belonging to Australian expatriates in Papua New Guinea? The artist was born in PNG to Australian-born parents – who themselves were expats in PNG. When the singer was about ten years old the family moved to Brisbane. Subsequently she has mostly resided in Australia albeit briefly in US (for about three years). Even if she returned to live in PNG (I see no evidence that she has) she would not be an Australian expat living there, as PNG is her birth country.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 00:44, 24 March 2023 (UTC)
