After
[edit]After digging around the library, I found several sources that show Mee's Lines appearing in cases of renal failure, not involving poisoning. It's a one-sentence add, but I feel appropriate. Consequentially 01:01, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
- Good deal! If you wrote down those sources, it's always great to put them in. Not that I don't believe you or think that the line should be removed, I'm just saying in general! InvictaHOG 11:37, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
- I'll have to head back later to pick them up. Alas, the downside of non-Internet research. Soon as possible, I'll toss 'em in. Consequentially 21:18, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
References
[edit]I chased up the classical references. Apparently Mees does quote a previous source in describing his clinical sign. I'm waiting for my father to send me a hard copy of the article to see whether he attributes it to Aldrich or to Reynolds. JFW | T@lk 14:40, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
- There's 180 Google hits for the incorrect "Mee's lines" and 675 for the correct "Mees lines". 62.6.139.11 15:16, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
Possible Merge
[edit]Since this article is relatively small, I believe this should be merged to Leukonychia. Piano410 (talk) 00:12, 8 May 2014 (UTC)

Proposed merge with Muehrcke's nails
[edit]These seem to be the same thing, or at least they include the same synonym. Carl Fredrik talk 22:10, 5 August 2018 (UTC) Carl Fredrik talk 22:10, 5 August 2018 (UTC)
- They aren't the same: Mees' are markings on the nail plate while Muehrcke's are in the nail bed. In fact, Muehrcke's are more closely related to (Half and half nail (aka Lindsay's) and Terry's nails), though all of them have one cause in common (chemo). About the synonym: Mees' are actually referred to as "true leukonychia" while Muehrcke's are classed as a kind of "apparent leukonychia" (in the old days they thought clear and descriptive naming was for chumps). I improved the Muehrcke's article a bit, i'll try to work on leukonychia sometime soon to clear things up.-- bornLoser (talk) 22:19, 24 October 2018 (UTC)
