[edit]Hi! I've just published this article over medical racism in the United States and I welcome any updates/edits that anyone has to contribute to the article. If I could ask someone to help me out with adding any external links and categories at the bottom of the article that would be great, I'm not sure how to do that part. - Hello, I think this article does a great job outlining a ton of Medical Racism's history in the United States, but I think you could add a bit more about its more recent legacy. There are two more recent research articles, published in 2012 and 2016, that document current beliefs in "differences" between Black and White people biologically. Furthermore, I think that you could include a bit more about J. Marion Sims and his legacy as the "father of gynecology" and how that was built upon the bodies of Black Women. Finally, adding in some details from very recent stories such as that of Serena William's risky birth and data from this TruthOut article, it would show how strongly this is ingrained in the American psyche. Finally, towards the end of the article you can include a few resources showing how groups in the US are working to combat this internalized racism and produce structurally competent physicians and connect them with patients in need, such as Health in her Hue. - What are some other specific historical examples that have occured in America that show the structural racism within the medical field? Is it still prominent today?--JadenWiki100 (talk) 04:59, 3 April 2024 (UTC)
