Henry John Carter
[edit]I've added Henry John Carter to the list of the notable members, because it says in his obituary in the BMJ that he was "elected President of the Medical and Physical Society" in 1847. Although it does not state explicitly that this is the same Medical and Physical Society as the Medical and Physical Society of Calcutta, I believe there is strong evidence pointing towards this. Carter was a surgeon working in India and especially Bombay from 1842 to 1862, and the Medical and Physical Society of Calcutta is the ONLY Medical and Physical Society that comes up when searching for this term on Google. He is not included in the list of members of the society that is easily found via Google, however this list is from 1829, and at this time, he was 16 years old ;-)
