Moved title picture
[edit]I moved the title picture to the screenshot gallery. Mainly I am trying to keep consistent with the existing numbers of super robot pages. Where the main robot itself is the main picture. Ideally the show should get a wikipedia page, and the robot should get its own. But there is not enough info to go around multiple pages. Benjwong 20:45, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
This move kind of upsets me and I highly disagree with it. Infoboxes on other anime pages are headed with the show's opening logo (or video cover bearing same). See:
- Neon Genesis Evangelion (at the moment one of the major "role models" of WikiProject Anime and Manga)
- Cowboy Bebop
- Serial Experiments Lain
- Betterman
I think some would argue that infobox animanga is there for containing information about a show, not a character or robot from the show (however important the robot is in a Super Robot show, I'll grant you). There's nothing precluding someone from putting the thumbnail of the robot just outside the infobox in the article itself, however; as a matter of fact, that's exactly what I did before you changed it.
But I do agree with mecha and anime article separation; much of the Gundam franchise on Wikipedia can bear that distinction since an abundance of information about the mecha is out there. For Super Robots...Yeah, it's definitely not as easy. I believe, however, that these articles usually start out as a WikiProject Anime and Manga project first and a Mecha project second--so information about the anime has to take precedence. Sad to say, but until there's more information translated about the mecha I can't see it happening any other way.
For what it's worth, Template:Infobox animanga doesn't seem to have any guidelines about the subject...But I suppose we'd really have to consult someone in the know (i.e. someone actually in charge of the template) to figure out the preferred order if there is one. Personally, though, since the article is centered on the anime I'd have to figure the opening logo takes precedence. --E. Megas 18:41, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
- Hi I just got your message. Been busy cranking out quite a number of pages and haven't checked back here for a while. Anyhow, feel free to change it back. I have been going by the first group of super-robot pages as references. As long as both pics make the page, it's ok with me. If I had a choice, I would have a toyline, anime and mecha page for every robot. But there is way too many wikipedia pages coming down my pipeline. Benjwong 08:34, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
