Korean Bell Garden - Date for the Groundbreaking Ceremony
[edit]This page [1] of the Korean American Cultural Committee's website currently lists the date for the Korean Bell Garden's groundbreaking ceremony as having been June 25, 2010. However, this page [2] from the same website lists the date as having been the 27th. Several other websites that I've been able to find also listed the date as the 27th. I'm guessing that the first page simply has a typo. --Jpcase (talk) 20:43, 4 May 2014 (UTC)
Korean Bell Garden - Date for the Completion of the Pavilion
[edit]The KACC's "Mission and Goals" page lists the date for the celebration of the completion of the pavilion as October 2, 2010. The "History" page says that on the 3rd, the "1st stage of bell belfry construction completed." I'm not sure if "1st stage" means that there was a second stage to the construction of the belfry or if it means that the construction of the belfry was the first stage of the construction of the overall garden. However, the "About" page says that the pavilion was completed on the 24th. I have no idea whether "belfry" and "pavilion" refer to separate structures or not, but I kind of doubt it.
Paul Gilbert (The Executive Director of the Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority) wrote two different blog posts about the completion of the pavilion - one on September 7 [3] and one on October 20. [4] He uses the term "pavilion" for both and never says "belfry".
Needless to say, the dating is a little confusing. There must have been several different stages of completion. I don't really feel the need to sort all of this out, because even if I knew what happened on each of these dates, going into detail about each one of them in the article would be excessive. So I simply wrote that the pavilion was completed in the Fall of 2010 and left it at that. --Jpcase (talk) 01:18, 6 May 2014 (UTC)
