Cartoons distributed by Columbia Pictures

There were three different entities that produced animated cartoons distributed by Columbia Pictures. The first was Charles Mintz Productions. When Columbia bought into the studio in 1933, it was renamed Screen Gems which Columbia assumed full ownership in 1939. After Columbia closed its in-house animation studio, it subcontracted cartoons to United Productions of America and the UPA cartoons were the most successful cartoons that Columbia distributed. While MeTV Toons has access to all the color cartoons Columbia distributed, the UPA cartoons are the ones in most demand. Steelbeard1 (talk) 17:25, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
