Nordschleife lap time
[edit]McLaren have made no official statement pertaining to accurate lap times or average lap speed. The only official statement is 'below 7 minutes'. The 111mph figure was only ever stated by Auto Express as a measure of what a sub-7 minute lap entails. It's also important to note that the 6:57 918 Spyder was a Weissach-modified vehicle not a standard Porsche 918.Z07x10 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 10:57, 14 December 2013 (UTC)
KERS?
[edit]The article says the P1 has KERS. Is there any source for that? As fair as I know, the P1 has no kind of enery recovery system, at least it can't recoup energy from the brakes (see http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/mclaren-p1/mclaren-p1-15-facts-you-didnt-know , #10). --79.231.121.211 (talk) 12:11, 19 December 2013 (UTC)
Hypercar, Last P1 & Competitors?
[edit]It is important that there is mension of the 375th McLaren P1 that rolled off the production line because it was a very special version and had some interesting qualities (as I described in my edit of the page). I also think that it is important that the page tells readers about the P1's main conpetators, the LaFerrari and Porsche 918, because it shows how much difference in the car makes there are to make a different cars that are essentialy built for the same purpuse. Another thing is that we should call it by its real type (Hypercar) not supercar (which is a lower leage). References to follow. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ZaRhod16 (talk • contribs)
- The additional information you added needs a reference. Also, per WP:AUCL, neither hypercar nor supercar are used on Wikipedia. Sports car is the proper term in this case. McLaren P1 MSO
[edit]Should we include info about this special addition? ZaRhod16 (talk) 18:05, 21 April 2016 (UTC)
- No, it does not seem notable enough with the citation given. If there was a lot of coverage in third-party publications, then it could be notable. Bahooka (talk) 18:07, 21 April 2016 (UTC)
- There are quite a lot of different websites that talk about the MSO adittion, search "lio blue p1" for some examples. It is worthy of recignition because wikipedia is a source to give people more information, so surely we should give as much information as possible, and that would include giving part of the page to this MSO McLaren P1. ZaRhod16 (talk) 18:40, 21 April 2016 (UTC)
- No, undue weight about a single one-off vehicle. Not only that, but the addition itself is just terrible. There's poor spelling, encyclopaedic tone throughout, and subjective opinion. Chaheel Riens (talk) 19:02, 21 April 2016 (UTC)

Okay, point taken. Sorry for wasting anyone's time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ZaRhod16 (talk • contribs) 06:27, 22 April 2016 (UTC)
Source for the delimited top speed of the McLaren P1?
[edit]First I have read 247 mph, then 245 mph, and now 249 mph. I only read somewhere reliable (specifically the McLaren website and Automobile Magazine) that the P1 reaches 217 (or is at least limited to that top speed). Is there a source for one of the other top speeds? (Thank you!) 2607:FB90:218B:F552:0:48:30D2:DD01 (talk) 07:51, 15 May 2016 (UTC)
There is no information about the P1's actual top-speed. There are some sources that it is capable of reaching 400km/h but that is unproven as of today. U1Quattro (talk) 16:29, 5 March 2018 (UTC)
I think that it can really reach more than 400 km/h without the limiter, hopefully one day someone will show it Super Dogger (talk) 18:34, 30 December 2022 (UTC)
