[edit]None of the first 3 external links lead to active pages, link no 4 leads to an article on NAFTA that very briefly mentions the McLane-Ocampo Treaty with no specifics. Needs better sources, as it currently seems like just an unfounded conspiracy theory.201.171.89.240 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 09:36, 12 January 2012 (UTC).
What are the sources of these article? Lateley I've been researching this and it is most likely to be a myth created by the Mexican conservative catholic rightwing which don't like the figure of Benito Juarez. It is true that he was exiled to the USA after the conservative party handed in the country to the foreign emperor, but I seriously doubt this treaty was ever formulated. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Huguinvzqz (talk • contribs).
- There are four sources linked within the article, and there are numerous books that refer to it. The treaty was "formulated" (whatever that means) and signed by the named parties, but it was not ratified by the US Senate, so it never came into force. --Dhartung | Talk 20:48, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
