History
[edit]I heard the story that it was the Shuswap Indians that were led to their Death. The Washington Indians and the Okanagan Indians were all the same Bands. They could come back and forth at will until not that many years ago. The Colville nation of Washington and Okanagan Nations in BC are all related. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.207.84.22 (talk • contribs) 21:28, 25 May 2019 (UTC)

McIntyre Bluff → nʕaylintn – nʕaylintn used to be called "McIntyre Bluff" from 7 October 1954 until 7 August 2015 when the name was changed to nʕaylintn "per request from Osoyoos Indian Band as part of agreement with Ministry of Environment" according to https://apps.gov.bc.ca/pub/bcgnws/names/69681.html Moyogo/ (talk) 00:34, 4 July 2023 (UTC) This is a contested technical request (permalink). - Comment what is the tranliterated name? (ie. what is this in ASCII?) -- 64.229.90.172 (talk) 04:43, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
- Comment: The Ngram shows nothing for Nʕaylintn. I don't know if that's because it's uncommon or because of the ayn IPA character. I suppose this falls to WP:TRANSLITERATE. Should we transliterate it into a practically unused spelling like N'aylintn? I don't think that's correct. Bit conflicted on this one. 〜 Festucalex • talk 15:19, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
