[edit]Per Edward Neafsey, The Surnames of Ireland: Origins and Numbers of Selected Irish Surnames (2002), p. 89, McGonagle, McGonigle, and McGonigal are all variations from the same root: "McGonagle, McGonigal and McGonigle are some of the spelling variants derived from the Irish Mac Congail". The other variations are also trivially different. These should all be at one name, so that the collective history of the names can be discussed there. bd2412 T 00:43, 21 May 2018 (UTC)
