I was looking for buildings to take photos of when I had a trip to Tulsa recently and came across Petroleum Building. Only after did I discover this page. Looks to me like they refer to the same exact building. Obviously the stubs should be merged, but it's not clear which one is more notable. Which page should merge into which? 0x0077BE (talk · contrib) 01:08, 19 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not merge these articles. The Petroleum Building (420 S. Boulder) and the Mayo Building (420 S. Main) are two different buildings, one block apart. The Petroleum Building article displayed a mis-identified photo of the Mayo Building, and in the infobox gave the S. Main address rather than S. Boulder. I have fixed these problems by: changing the address in the Petroleum Building infobox, removing the photo from the Petroleum Building article, requesting that the mis-identified photo be renamed at the Commons, correcting the image description at the Commons. Good job scouting out National Register photos! If you have another chance to get to Tulsa, go out and get the Petroleum Building! Here's some additional information about the two buildings for you: Petroleum (text, photos), Mayo (text, photos). — Ipoellet (talk) 01:52, 19 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I doubt I'll go to Tulsa again. I think I was confused by the incorrect info in the boxes. I actually may have a photograph of the Petroleum Building, though, because I was lost and saw a building that said "420" on it and assumed it was the right one. I need to run right now, feel free to remove the merge templates. I'll see if I have a photo of the Petroleum Building among my discards. 0x0077BE (talk · contrib) 01:57, 19 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I've removed the banners. Hope you find that pic. Once again, good footwork! — Ipoellet (talk) 02:00, 19 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Ipoellet. I just checked, I do have two photos of the Petroleum Building. Not as well framed as the Mayo Building ones because I thought I was at the wrong place, but I'll see what I can do with cropping and upload them when I get back. Sorry for the confusion. 0x0077BE (talk · contrib) 02:02, 19 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I don't want to step on any toes, but I think one of the photos I took is probably at a somewhat better angle than the one that is currently up there, so I was thinking of replacing the infobox photo. Here is a gallery of the photos I took of this building (thinking it was the Petroleum Building):

Personally, I'm in favor of the first one, but I think the second one might work as well. Any opposition to me replacing the photo that's currently there with the first photo in that gallery? 0x0077BE (talk · contrib) 04:54, 19 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, and I have the camera raw files for these, so if anyone thinks they should be re-cropped and/or the tone adjusted, I can do that pretty easily. 0x0077BE (talk · contrib) 05:03, 19 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't see any objection, so I went ahead and used the first one. 0x0077BE (talk · contrib) 04:15, 27 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
