Airport

[edit]

Maylands Aerodrome needs its own article. Moondyne 02:55, 29 October 2008 (UTC) The article states Maylands is bordered by Mt Lawley, East Perth and Bayswater. I live in Maylands and that isn't correct. It is bordered to the west by Inglewood also, and has no border with East Perth. Where Maylands borders the Swan River, according to Google Maps even these areas are opposite Bedford and not East Perth. I'd think it better to state that Maylands is "bordered by Mt Lawley, Inglewood, Bayswater and the Swan River." Even some locals I know believe the part of Maylands west of the railway line is in fact Inglewood, though from maps the western (or is it north-western?) border is at York Street. And isn't nit-picking pedantry what it's all about? Anyway never having edited an article before I'm just leaving my comment as chat. Argue all you like and please leave me out of it. Article issues

[edit]

This article has a number of issues. There is peacock language throughout, for example:

  • This magnificent building has become a symbol that illustrates Perth’s short history. With its high ceilings, rustic wooded floors, classical charm and character, the building sets a perfect tone for the West Australian Ballet. The building’s disposition provides the artistic team with a creative and innovative backdrop to aid in the creation of world class productions.
  • The Club sails ... the popular trailer-sailer Hartley TS 16.
  • The club ... is renowned for its social activities year-round

A number of organisations in the article are referenced only by only self-published sources, which would be better placed as External Links at the bottom of the page, if at all. Finally, references to over recent years and the recent Council approval need to be time-relative. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rund717 (talkcontribs) 14:34, 14 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
