New Info, Images
[edit]Anytime any of you Wiki-pros come across the tour's logo, or new information, then go ahead and add it into the article. Thanks! Dark Executioner (talk) 00:14, 15 January 2008 (UTC)Dark Executioner
WTF? Gym Class Heroes and Relient K??? Whose idea was it to put these bands on the same tour as Slipknot? Dark Executioner (talk) 16:07, 21 January 2008 (UTC)Dark Executioner
- Erm, the guys who arranged the tour. Jasca Ducato (talk) 19:36, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
- Gym Class Heroes and Relient K are playing Warped Tour 2008. They're NOT on the Rockstar Mayhem Tour. The tours are going to be running at the exact same time so there's no way those bands are going to be able to play two separate festivals at the same time. DX927 (talk) 02:04, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
I was about to say. Those bands do not belong on a festival with heavy metal bands. Their fans alone would simply kill each other. Thanks to DX927 for dismissing those rumors. Dark Executioner (talk) 02:19, 22 January 2008 (UTC)Dark Executioner
Some new rumored bands
[edit]I added a few more bands with a source. I debated listing these bands alphabetically but I'll put them up by how big they are until the actual lineup is released DX927 (talk) 18:07, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
I don't think that rumored bands should be included. Only what's been confirmed should be in the article.Dark Executioner (talk) 16:03, 28 January 2008 (UTC)Dark Executioner
Then Slipknot should be taken off as well since they made a point to say that they aren't saying what they're doing this summer. DX927 (talk) 23:00, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
They'd be fools not to, their fanbase definetely needs revitalizing cuz a LOT of maggots think they've broken up. Slipknot... always so mysterious. But do you get what I'm saying? Even though it would be cool if Machine Head and Mastodon played on this tour, what good does a rumor do? Dark Executioner (talk) 18:33, 29 January 2008 (UTC)Dark Executioner
My point is only one band has come out and said that they're doing the tour and that's Five Finger Death Punch. I haven't seen Slipknot or Disturbed even talk about this thing. There's no official website for it. So right now everything is a rumor and NOTHING is confirmed. So either they all stay or they all go. DX927 (talk) 01:45, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, I moved both Slipknot and Disturbed to the rumored bands. Perhaps the r=umored bands list should stay, that way when/if they get confirmed, then nobody has to go digging through the web, they can simply move them to the confirmed list. Dark Executioner (talk) 23:35, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
Something's Wrong with the Box
[edit]For some reason, the box won't display the founders of the festival. It seems to be an invisible problem, because no matter how much I tweaked it in preview mode, it just wouldn't display it. Can anyone fix this? Dark Executioner (talk) 22:38, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
- I just went and looked, that seems to be a problem on EVERY music festival page. I have yet to find one that has the founded by section working. DX927 (talk) 02:15, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
How about we just remove the "Founded by" section then, instead of having a hole in the box. This would make it look better and less confusing, because I know if it confused me, then certainly others are too. Dark Executioner (talk) 15:30, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
- ...Never mind, it still displays it. This sucks... We need to contact an administrator. Do you know one, DX927? Dark Executioner (talk) 15:33, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
- Nope, I never know who is and isn't an admin around here. Maybe there's a page for reporting bugs? DX927 (talk) 23:46, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
Trivia section
[edit]Could we merge these into the article in a different form? For example, still display the info, but in paragraph form? Dark Executioner (talk) 15:34, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
Dates
[edit]Why are the TBA dates all filled in now? I haven't seen those sourced anywhere. DX927 (talk) 17:52, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
There looks like there's a source, but I can't access the site. Dark Executioner (talk) 12:56, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
Lets Not
[edit]plagiarize. Honestly -- it isn't that difficult to work in a paraphrase. The bit I'm referring to ("Additional Tour Information") plagiarizes entire portions of the program. The purpose of a wiki article is not to regurgitate advertisement. Normally I would set this right myself but I'm not that knowledgeable regarding the tour (although I will be attending, huzzah) and in turn would rather the better versed do so. Phentos (talk) 19:34, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
It doesn't matter if it's word for word, if you cite your references and provide accurate, functional links. BTW, always start new discussions at the bottom of the talk page. Dark Executioner (talk) 15:31, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
Suggested Article Move
[edit]The Vans Warped Tour page is just titled Warped Tour, and the Rockstar Energy Taste of Chaos page is just titled Taste of Chaos. I think this article, the Rockstar Mayhem Tour, should be moved to just Mayhem Tour or perhaps even Mayhem Festival seeing as how that is how it is titled on the logo. Fezmar9 (talk) 01:03, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
Radio stations and rock/metal magazines like Revolver have advertised the tour as Rockstar Mayhem Tour. This is its official name for now. No need to move an article yet, bro! Dark Executioner (talk) 17:43, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
The same holds true with Warped Tour and Taste of Chaos, they are advertised as VANS warped tour and ROCKSTAR ENERGY taste of chaos - but outside of advertisements websites radios and magazines, the sponsors in the titles are dropped. Its technically even a little like advertising rockstar on wiki, which as i have been corrected in the past, is very much not allowed. Fezmar9 (talk) 03:59, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
Tickets
[edit]Have tickets gone on sale yet? There's no links to any ticket venders on the page, nor on the linked website. Any thoughts? 71.231.222.113 (talk) 06:12, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
- Pre-sale tickets go on sale tomorrow, Friday April 4. The website was just updated a few days ago. Fezmar9 (talk) 19:10, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
Atreyu
[edit]Where is the proof that Atreyu is playing this year? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.96.209.88 (talk) 16:44, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
Hopefully they dont cuz they're just another crappy emo band. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.211.95.188 (talk) 02:32, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
I do not know why you are saying all these bands are emo, get the genres right, Atreyu are def. not emo!
There metalcore not emo (Seth4000 (talk) 15:16, 28 January 2009 (UTC)) Seht4000
Atreyu didn't play at mayhem cause they were at projekt revolution w/ likin park. i met dem it's true you can look yourself http://linkinpark.com/projektrevolution
fyi atreyu isn't emo der more metelcore —Preceding unsigned comment added by Metalhead757 (talk • contribs) 05:38, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
Avenged Sevenfold and 30 Seconds To Mars
[edit]Whoever put Avenged Sevenfold and 30 Seconds To Mars under the main stage, please provide a creditible source to prove they are on the tour. Unless there is a creditble source and they're on the official mayhem fest website, I am taking them off. Bane004 (talk) 19:41, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
What's up with all these emo/sucky bands tryin to tour with SLipknot? They'd eat them for lunch. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.211.95.188 (talk) 16:11, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
A7X and 30 are not emo. Get it right. And if they were so sucky would both of them headlineed Taste of Chaos.? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.186.160.134 (talk) 00:52, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
A7X is not emo and 30stm is emo (Seth4000 (talk) 15:18, 28 January 2009 (UTC)) Seth4000
Styx?
[edit]I Seriously Doubt the Doobie Brothers, Styx, Devo, and Maddonna are playing so I'm taking them off unless someone provides evidence they are actually on a HEAVY METAL tour. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.228.189.93 (talk) 21:56, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
I always wondered why it isn't ASF. I get the 7 but why is there a X for "fold" UNHOLY CONFESSIONS!!! dand i really wanted to go this festival but of couse my I couldn't yeah it suks metal bands never come to North Carolina... yeah and that mayhem 2010 was fake fyi, but i guess that was pretty obviosis —Preceding unsigned comment added by Metalhead757 (talk • contribs) 05:32, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
Kingdom of Sorrow
[edit]Is it possible that they are one of the battle of the bands winners? Other than their myspace page, I do not see any record of them being on the tour. Perhaps we should hold off on adding them to the lineup until we know for sure. Also, when battle of the bands winners are announced, they should get their own section as seen here on the Taste of Chaos page. Fezmar9 (talk) 02:41, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
Lightning Incident
[edit]I just got back from the West Palm Beach show, and while Underoath was playing on the Jägermeister stage, lightning struck in the middle of the crowd! No one was hurt, but it freaked out a lot of people, and apparently Underoath needed to change instruments cause the bolt messed em up somehow. Don't know if that should be listed along with the Sid incident, too. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.109.29.68 (talk) 07:01, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
- If you could find and post some third-party sources here, that would help the editors of this page greatly. Fezmar9 (talk) 07:12, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
Disturbed Bus Accident
[edit]Should the disturbed bus accident be mentioned on the page? Photos and some info can be found here. http://maddieontheroad.blogspot.com/ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.168.53.69 (talk) 20:38, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
- Did it affect the tour? Like did members get injured and replaced? It sounds like it would fit better on Disturbed's page. Fezmar9 (talk) 02:45, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
Title
[edit]Is there a good reason for not capitalizing "festival" in this title? The only place I can see where "festival" isn't capitalized is the actual logo for Mayhem, which does not affect capitalization as it is only a stylistic variant. So... which title would work best? Mayhem Festival? Rockstar Mayhem Festival? Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival? Or Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival? Xnux the Echidna 22:49, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
- It just be capitalized "Mayhem Festival" because Rockstar is just the sponsor and not part of the name of the tour. Fezmar9 (talk) 23:23, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, I'm going to move the title then. Xnux the Echidna 23:46, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

- yea right most of them arent metal (Seth4000 (talk) 13:37, 23 February 2009 (UTC)) Seth4000
- My prediction for Mayhem Festival is that it is going to have many different genres playing on different stages just like Warped Tour and the line-up will only consist of the bands that are popular that year. George howard2009 (talk) 16:54, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
Mayhem Festival 2009 article and general festival information
[edit]This page was recently moved from "Mayhem Festival" to "Mayhem Festival 2009" which I more recently switched back. I agree that information about the 2009 tour should have its own page much like Mayhem Festival 2008, but this page would become very weak with very little information pertaining to the festival in general. If this change is to take place, it should not occur until the semi-protection has expired at the earliest. It was enabled to protect the lineup from being vandalized, and moving the information to a new page would defeat the purpose of the protection. Any information about Mayhem Festival should also be expanded before the move, however this may be difficult to accomplish with 2009 being only the second annual tour. Comments? Thoughts? Fezmar9 (talk) 06:07, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
- I think this is fine.Llama lom (talk) 20:25, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
I'm wondering how we could fit injuries like we did with last year's article. From what I've seen, Tony Laureano is playing drums for All That Remains throughout the tour.
