[edit]- Nothing was mentioned on the enonym "Mayaca" to that of the Maya and the "Ais" to the Aztec, but I'm not sure about the Mayas originated from Florida. Any Southeastern US tribe must have an ability to have grass reed canoes to get across the Straits of Cuba to island hop the Caribbean, in which the Arawak and Carib peoples are known to have done. Another theory of the Siouan Algonkian connection with the Miami Indians of Ohio, and even the Cherokee of Iroquoian origins might settled farther south to Florida than once thought. It is feasible for Woodland Indians, like the Seminole whom are an offshoot of the Creek Indians came to Florida about the 1500s, to been the ancestors of Mayaca and Ais Indians. Also the Mayaca were the medial stage between Northern and Central America, as if the Mayans actually originated in Florida. + 71.102.11.193 (talk) 10:03, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
