Role in riots-release on bail
[edit]Please read the article cited. She was released on bail in 2009 and not 2012. She did not spend like 2 years in jail rather just spent close to 2 months. I am changing the date. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 171.65.197.80 (talk) 20:50, 29 August 2012 (UTC)
BLP issues, rewrite, infobox
[edit]I've rewritten the section on her role in the gujarat riots to better satisfy blp (dispassionate writing is better). Also, there is some question about the criminal infobox. I'm leaving it in because she was convicted and though it is true that she can appeal, a conviction is usually enough. If there is an appeal, then information about the appeal should be added to the section. Please voice your opinions on what should or should not be in the article. Also, is there some way that the two infoboxes can be combined? --regentspark (comment) 18:10, 11 September 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry for the delayed reply. Somehow, I unwatchlisted this page. I too agree that the infobox is "okay" and in case she appeals, I'll be adding the data ASA I get the info. Thanks for your work! TheSpecialUser TSU 15:47, 22 September 2012 (UTC)
@Sdmarathe: it would be okay to mention directly that she is a doctor and/or use 'Dr' at her first mention. The name in the infobox should generally not have the Dr prefix, removing it from there is recommended. Some other physician pages have the 'Dr' prefix, D._Raja_Reddy, Ernest Floyd, Şuayib Yalçın but not all. --AmritasyaPutraT 07:50, 23 October 2014 (UTC)
- Hi There @AmritasyaPutra: . I was going by a few other pages where Dr prefix was being used - e.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shriram_Lagoo. Of course Dr Lagoo is not Dr Kodnani :-) I will follow your suggestions and will remove the Dr from the infobox. --Sdmarathe (talk) 07:56, 23 October 2014 (UTC)
- By policy, we don't use honorifics anywhere. That will be a slippery slope. The fact that she was a practising doctor can certainly be mentioned. Kautilya3 (talk) 09:26, 23 October 2014 (UTC)
- Actually here 'Dr' does not fall under Honorific at all, honorific actually recommends putting in the title clearly in the first sentence. Here 'Dr' falls under credential and there it is recommended to only mention the degree/profession instead of using 'Dr'. So it should be Maya Surendrakumar Kodnani, is a doctor of gynaecology. @Sdmarathe: ignore other articles where this is not being followed, can you update the content according to the recommended style(credential) on this article? Thank you. --AmritasyaPutraT 11:09, 23 October 2014 (UTC)
- AP is correct, and I have fixed this. Vanamonde93 (talk) 16:11, 23 October 2014 (UTC)

Summary of acquittal in lead, because it is in body and it is blp.
[edit]The revert in context is this: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Maya_Kodnani&type=revision&diff=837565064&oldid=837536768
I think it is in body and this is about a living person so summarizing it in lead in context is only fair. G (talk) 17:41, 21 April 2018 (UTC)
- You are right. Sorry, I misread the diff to assume that you were deleting it. It should be in the lead. Absolutely! -- Kautilya3 (talk) 19:21, 21 April 2018 (UTC)
- No problem, thanks. G (talk) 04:01, 22 April 2018 (UTC)
- From these sources: 1 2 3 it looks like she was acquitted, wich is different from saying she was released on bail or her term was suspended. Is it because this is recent and we should consider only after some days? But BLP is also sensitive. G (talk) 04:11, 22 April 2018 (UTC)
- What happened in 2014 was suspension of sentence. What happened now is an acquittal. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 18:22, 22 April 2018 (UTC)
