[edit]

the audiobox is cutting off the text in the box. what do i do to solve this problem. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ritzbitz00 (talkcontribs) 18:36, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It's looking fine I'd say.--Avant-garde a clue-hexaChord2 22:18, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
i changed the wording so it wasnt as noticable, but before any smaller words like the or album got cut off at the right end.Ritzbitz00 (talk) 18:12, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
btw, you can see the box error again, the word deli in dawn of the deli creeps is cut off on the bottom section

[edit]

do you want me to reupload the pictures and sound clips i used in the original version of the article?Ritzbitz00 (talk) 23:34, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Two maximum bob articles

[edit]

apparently, someone made another maximum bob article where the old one used to be. what do we do? do we combine the two articles together, copy the info from our version to the other. or do we do something to get rid of the other. I honestly have no clue. if someone could clarify the procedures for this kind of problem, i'd be so gratefull.Ritzbitz00 (talk) 23:34, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The location is wrong (Singer instead of singer), plus the article is bad. If there's info we need, we'll take it. Don't do anything to the other article atm, maybe someone will add things which are useful for us. Just have an eye open and leave it be.----Avant-garde a clue-hexaChord2 00:04, 4 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
how do the bots/editors get notified that they should delete and article. do they get tipped off by someone and a person makes the choice or is it automatic if problems arent fixed after a certain amount of time.Ritzbitz00 (talk) 18:20, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Quite simple: If you see an article you don't like you can nominate it for deletion. That's an easy way to drive people crazy if you don't like them. Just stalk them and question everything they contribute. I can sing a song or two about... ;-) If you wanna know how this looks: I nominated some Buckethead related redirects: [1] [2] [3]--Avant-garde a clue-hexaChord2 19:25, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
BTW: To avoid future anger: [4] [5] [6] [7] --Avant-garde a clue-hexaChord2 19:36, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
im confused... are you trying to tell me somethi8ng? showing me the deletion records of the article the first time i tried making it wont really get me mad, or am i missing the bigger picture.Ritzbitz00 (talk) —Preceding undated comment was added at 23:33, 12 January 2009 (UTC).[reply]
Well, now it's tagged for deletion.--Avant-garde a clue-hexaChord2 19:54, 20 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Keeping an eye on maximum bob (Singer)

[edit]

ive been spying on the Maximum Bob (Singer) page. Although they have practically no sources, they do have some interesting information we shopuld consider adding.

1.He inspired the song "oh jeez" from bucketheadland (it was his catchphrase)

2.he makes money by doing online surveys (if we can find proof, we should add this.

3. he has sung with the band neck.

in case more comes up, im put the link to their page here for ease of spying.Ritzbitz00 (talk) 18:18, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The "Oh Jeez" one is quite obvious while the other two look suspicious. Only copy them if sources can be found. I'll have a look, too.--Avant-garde a clue-hexaChord2 19:18, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

something wrong with the citation

[edit]

i put a citation on the end of the cmt section of the article, but it doesnt appear to look right. if somone could check that the whole thing has been properly made and filled in, id appreciate it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ritzbitz00 (talkcontribs) 22:26, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

How do we know when it's ready for really wikipedia use? also, once we do get word of it being ready, let me know so i can upload the pictures and soundlips againRitzbitz00 (talk) 22:31, 12 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think we still can improve it a bit. Give it some time. About my changes you reverted: There's both names, Barnum (e.g. both versions of the ETC booklet and the TMT episode) and Bornum (BMI entry and Discogs) spinning around. About "nonorthodox": [8].--Avant-garde a clue-hexaChord2 19:12, 14 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
ok, but i think the proper usage here is unorthodox though. sorry to offend. : ) Ritzbitz00 (talk) 01:46, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

redirect?

[edit]

if or once the other MB page is removed, should we make a redirect from it that leads to this one?Ritzbitz00 (talk) 21:17, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If we want to use the (proper) lower case location, we'll have to survive a discussion first. The upper case location is free, we just can overwrite it. But it only will be a matter of time until the next AfD. I really don't know why the DC stuff is hunted down to death.--Avant-garde a clue-hexaChord2 21:47, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
afd? dc stuff? what does that mean? we can overwrite the other one i guessRitzbitz00 (talk) 18:28, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ready or not?

[edit]

Have a look on my recent changes [9], mainly on the musical career section. I don't think we can improve the article much more in the near future. I'd say re-up your files and let's bring this damn thing to life...--Avant-garde a clue-hexaChord2 22:26, 20 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

mkay, are pictures from there website acceptable, if the webpage is abandoned?Ritzbitz00 (talk) 04:51, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
trick my trucker photo of bob or deli creeps bob? put up deli creeps bob, if you want i can put up the other, it shows him walking at the truck stopRitzbitz00 (talk) 04:55, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
What we need is some copyright information. Best would be a free picture of Bob (public domain). Or a low resolution picture from Trucker which could be used with a fair use rationale. Everything else will be deleted within one or two weeks. That's not what we want, is it? BTW: Do you still have the Ogg Vorbis files?--Avant-garde a clue-hexaChord2 09:54, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

i have a pic from that, but i can never get the right liscence. the one thats up is a free pic from their webvsite, with no liscence or copyright. how do i show that on wikipedia so it isnt deleted. could you go to the pics page and give it the right liscnecing for that. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:BuckBobArm.jpg your elp would be appreciated, its apparently being deleted soon. and yes, i have the oggs. Ritzbitz00 (talk) 18:27, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

what liscnecing is for "found it on website"?Ritzbitz00 (talk) 18:34, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
What about fair use? If you have the Oggs, load them up and move the damn article to its destination.--Avant-garde a clue-hexaChord2 21:12, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
ps: I think you should have a read on Wikipedia:Non-free content, this may help a lot. Looks like you can't use the two pictures you want. Otherwise you have to contact Bob himself [10] ;-) --Avant-garde a clue-hexaChord2 21:36, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
it expires in february it says. does that mean after that THEN we can use the photos? im not quite sure what you were trying to show me on the pageRitzbitz00 (talk) 23:04, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
and btw, the pic thats currently being used is a photo from myspace. whats the policy on thatRitzbitz00 (talk) 23:06, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The domain expires in February. If Bob does not renew it someone else can register the domain name. The link includes some contact data, that's why linked to it. And it tells you that it is Bob who is owning the page. About the myspace pic: Again, it is not PD. It is some professional looking photo and we don't know the copyright info for it. Therefore we can't use it. Period.--Avant-garde a clue-hexaChord2 23:21, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

liscensing, liscensing...

[edit]

here, i put up what i think is a better pic than the one i was using before (look in history and tell me if you disagree). i found it on myspace and i put it under public domain under someone else's work? was this correct? should i do this with all uncopyrighted pictures on the web? i'm uploading an alternative: File:Bob_Barnum_Maximum_Bob.jpg, it comes from the website for the episode of trick my trucker, but there wasnt anything in the liscencing for publicity photos or photos taken by someone else, so i put it under "TV screenshot". is that okay? why arent the liscense more straightforward, isnt there a regular 'free domain photo found on a website' option?Ritzbitz00 (talk) —Preceding undated comment was added at 21:23, 21 January 2009 (UTC).[reply]

The screenshot's licensing looks correct, but I don't if it will survive when not used in an article on the show or the station itself but a biography of someone mainly unrelated to the station. You can't say something's PD only because you found it somewhere on the web without a prober copyright indication. It could've been put there by s.o. like you. ;-) --Avant-garde a clue-hexaChord2 21:41, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
s.o.? whats that? (pardon my ignorance v_v) and if it doesnt say anything, its just a picture of someone on a myspace page. and another pic i have, which also doesnt say anything, but its from the deli creeps websiteRitzbitz00 (talk) 23:00, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
the problem is its not a screenshot, its a promotional pic on the shows website for that episode : (Ritzbitz00 (talk) 23:09, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No matter which picture we choose, we have to include proper copyright information. There are people doing nothing else than hunting down pictures without. It does not have to be big but it should be good. If there's no possibilty we just leave that be and add one in the future. Maybe we'll get one from a fan who shot a concert or something. It is not that important now.--Avant-garde a clue-hexaChord2 23:16, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I placed hidden FURs on all three pictures, so if you uploaded the Oggs we could give it a try.--Avant-garde a clue-hexaChord2 00:28, 22 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
they say they will be deleted, even the one thats public domain. either i didnt use the liscense for some reason or someone changed it. how do i add liscences for public domain or at all?Ritzbitz00 (talk) 19:49, 22 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
None of them is public domain. And who is "they"?--Avant-garde a clue-hexaChord2 19:53, 22 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
ok, sorry, and 'they' are what i collectively call the powers-that-be on wikipedia, bots and admins and stuff. anyway, how do you add a liscence to an already existing picture. they should make it easier to use. also, all the ppic will be deleted if we dont get the liscencesRitzbitz00 (talk) 00:15, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
All the pictures have FURs already, shouldn't be the problem. Again: Who says what? Where?--Avant-garde a clue-hexaChord2 00:21, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
those bots that send you warnings and noticesRitzbitz00 (talk) 04:24, 25 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

COMPLETION!!!

[edit]

that's it... we did it. how do we get it on main wiki now?Ritzbitz00 (talk) 02:34, 22 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

More like Pitch Up

[edit]

I suspect that the track Bend Up is pitched higher due to whatever problem might occur in copying a cassette tape to a computer. In that case it wouldn't show AS diverse a vocal range 68.7.66.85 (talk) 06:19, 24 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

while it is possible that it may be pitched higher (i didnt copy it to a computer myself), this recording is considered to be accurate since the majority of the copies of this song found on the internet are the same pitch. unless you can prove that it is supposed to be lower (maybe pitch it lower on a program and place a link here, i dont intend to change out the song. sorry : ) Ritzbitz00 (talk) 20:00, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
