Requested Move 19 March 2024
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was:
- Max Parker moved to Max Parker (art director).
- Max Parker (disambiguation) moved to Max Parker.
Participants reached a clear consensus that the art director was not the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for the name "Max Parker", but were much more divided over whether the actor should hold primary topic status instead. Those in favor of granting PTOPIC status noted the high level of pageviews received by the actor, while those opposed argued that those views were a factor of recentism; I don't see this question as having resulted in a consensus, and in the absence of consensus for a primary topic I find it best to assume none. Thus, I have moved the DAB page to the primary title, as was suggested by some participants in the discussion below. – Clear primary topic by usage (81% of [1]). PrinceofPunjabTALK 11:45, 19 March 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose 1st, Neutral on 2nd. May be no primary topic by long-term significance, but if there is it's certainly not the actor, which is pure WP:RECENTISM. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:26, 19 March 2024 (UTC)
- Support 2nd, neutral on 1st per above, it might be best to have no primary topic. Crouch, Swale (talk) 19:27, 19 March 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose Max Parker (actor) → Max Parker and support Max Parker → Max Parker (art director)
, paired with the creation of a Max Parker disambiguation page that would list both men. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 19:02, 20 March 2024 (UTC) - Support. A clear WP:primary topic even when also considering Max Parker (footballer). But there are about a dozen incoming wikilinks that would need to be cleaned up first. - Comment. I struck the text, in my above vote, suggesting creation of a Max Parker (disambiguation) page, having been unaware at the time that such a dab page was in existence since 24 August 2023. However, upon discovering the dab, I would now also support pairing Max Parker → Max Parker (art director) with Max Parker (disambiguation) → Max Parker. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 16:06, 21 March 2024 (UTC)
- Support as primary topic. Adumbrativus (talk) 03:45, 27 March 2024 (UTC)
- Support second and disambiguate. BD2412 T 00:00, 28 March 2024 (UTC)
