Page re-created
[edit]Dear wikipedians, I've decided to re-create this page. Keiser is a controversial and noteworthy figure in both economics, financial activism and broadcasting. Lets see if we can get it right 2nd time around. --Salimfadhley (talk) 20:09, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
- Agreed. I know the above is an old message, but Max Keiser is a big figure and is well watched within my college. If we can have articles about extremely obscure topics, than we certainaly have one about a quite well know figure.

American
[edit]America is a continent. It extends from Canada to Argentina. It's not clear to people outside the US in which of the 35 countries in America this person was born. Nobody refers to the French as "Europeans", because so are the Spaniards, Italians, etc. so please stop using the continental demonym to refer to US citizens. This is an encyclopedia and colloquial language should be avoided. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 181.47.59.232 (talk) 16:15, 9 March 2019 (UTC)
Objectivity
[edit]This reads like an article in a Keiser fanzine. Surely the article should strive to stick to facts (a representative collecton) without adding opinion (and do you know, he was right all the time!!!) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.32.8.69 (talk) 15:48, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, the "predictions" section is pretty terrible. Saying "Lehman Brothers is in deep trouble" in July 2008 is not exactly a brilliant "prediction," given that the stock had already lost like 80% of its value at that point. Same with saying "Gosh, Iceland relies on hot money and is kind of precarious" in 2007, given that pretty much everyone had been saying that since 2006, and "Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are awfully sketchy" in late 2004, since that had been front-page news since 2003. Basically someone has gone back and highlighted anything he said that turned out to be relatable to the crash, and turned it into a "prediction." The whole section looks to be unsalvageable original research. TiC (talk) 19:12, 13 December 2010 (UTC)
- I think the point here is that financial predictions are an important part of Max Keiser's stage persona, particularly in the RT series "The Oracle". The original purpose of the section was to list some of the more notable predictions and say which actually did come true within the expected time-frame. (salimfadhley) --109.148.84.237 (talk) 20:45, 12 May 2011 (UTC)
Even if his financial predictions are an important part of Keiser's stage persona, they aren't part of an encyclopedic entry. This entry is ridiculous. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.49.44.154 (talk) 03:30, 12 December 2011 (UTC)
- Well good luck fixing it. This is Wikipedia: where the most fanatical people always win. 09:05, 14 December 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.132.224.131 (talk)
- Keiser's predictions are almost certainly relevant to an article about Keiser. Public statments made by a TV personality are usually fair-game for Wikipedia unless of course a biased selection of statements violates NPOV. --212.188.161.10 (talk) 17:07, 6 February 2012 (UTC)
- I Think it is not appropriate to just remove the Predictions. We should at least keep predictions that concern the future? Any Objections?84.114.39.92 (talk) 14:11, 7 March 2012 (UTC)

Full protection
[edit]I've fully protected the article for a week two days since an IP started adding dubious material that sparked a short edit war. Material that has been reverted should be discussed before adding it back in. Discuss adding the material here, following the advice in WP:BRD. Continuing to edit war after the protection has expired will result in blocks. This shouldn't be seen as an endorsement of any version. Dennis Brown - 2¢ © Join WER 22:23, 11 December 2012 (UTC)
Bitcoin
[edit]There are persistent rumours that MK is in some way connected with the bitcoin virtual currency. If anybody has suitably referenced info about this, it would make a useful addition to the article. --Ef80 (talk) 01:42, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
- He has been a prominent advocate of the currency since about the beginning of 2013. First mention on the Keiser Report was made by Stacy Herbert much earlier (maybe as early as end of 2010, because it was before the 2011 crash iirc). However, it will be difficult to find secondary sources on this.--Grondilu (talk) 21:39, 14 April 2013 (UTC)
Claim of value 1/12,500 BTC in last sentence of section, "Cryptocurrencies"
[edit]In the last sentence of the article, the claim is made without any reference that, "As of April 2015, the Maxcoin is valued 1/12,500 of a bit coin".
http://www.cryptocoincharts.info/pair/max/btc/cryptsy/6-months shows the value of bitcoin during April 2015 between 0.000018 and 0.000024 BTC, that is between 1/55,555 and 1/41,666 BTC -- approximately one quarter of 1/12,500 BTC. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.125.26.110 (talk) 22:58, 16 May 2015 (UTC)

Assessment comment
[edit]The comment(s) below were originally left at Talk:Max Keiser/Comments, and are posted here for posterity. Following several discussions in past years, these subpages are now deprecated. The comments may be irrelevant or outdated; if so, please feel free to remove this section.
Could we please remove the following quote or add a believable source: "both for his confrontational, humorous delivery, and because his critics consider him a sensationalist left-winger[3]." The source is the blog www.shelleytherepublican.com which is either a serious extreme right wing hate site or maybe more likely a joke blog making fun of the right wing. |

Propaganda stations multiplying
[edit]We are making liberal use of the term “propaganda station” in this page. Is this how the entitles are described in the sources provided? If so, should the description be attributed? Does this have anything to do with the subject of the article? Burrobert (talk) 03:24, 27 January 2021 (UTC)
