bass drumming

[edit]

hold on a second... "slow bass drum kicks"? have any of you ever listened to kataklysm? kataklysm has possibly the fastest bass drum work i have ever heard from a real (i.e., not drum machine) drummer; Max Duhammel is right up there with Max Kolesne and Kevin Talley when it comes to bass drum rolling. good example: "Il Diavolo In Me," from Epic... from 1:52-2:12 (20 seconds), there's a rolling bass drum pattern of AT LEAST 200 kicks... that's 10 kicks 'per second.'

...so i ask, is Max Duhamel really known for his slow bass drum kicks?

yes. listen to the beginning of the very same song. fast snare, slow bass. "northern Hyperblast". so he is known for fast kick and for combining fast snare and slow kick. that simple. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.11.65.127 (talk) 14:33, 30 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
