nationstates.net website
[edit]Recent edits have been removed regarding controversy over Max Barry's website nationstates.net. Unpleasant as the subject matter is, especially for fans of Mr. Barry, and while it seems to be only partly relevant to his biography, there is nothing libelous in stating true facts, especially if the facts reference certain people's use of a website which happens to be registered to Mr. Barry. Furthermore, stating these facts and the fact that nationstates.net is registered to Mr. Barry (ie someone uses website A; website A is registered to person B) does not in itself constitute harrassment. Arguments could be made that it would be a breach of etiquette to post unflattering observations about a site registered to him or that the language used in the posts were slanted one way or another.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.197.27.212 (talk) 13:47, 15 August 2005 (UTC)
- Leaving aside the question of whether this is "true facts," there is already a Wikipedia page for NationStates and the information you want to post is already there. It is unjustified to duplicate it on this page, where NationStates is only mentioned in passing. --Violetine—Preceding undated comment added 23:33, 15 August 2005 (UTC).
- I agree absolutely. The question of what constitues libel was the disagreement.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.85.179.96 (talk) 17:05, 16 August 2005 (UTC)
Company
[edit]Why is there nothing about Company?— Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.181.165.163 (talk) 18:44, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
Section 8
[edit]I heard somewhere that section 8 is planning to shut down and Barry is getting the movie rights back.
- Can you find any sources to verify this? Syberwolff 20:51, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

Machine Man
[edit]Max Barry's serialization should be included in his works and linked, but I'm not sure what category to put it in. It's not a novel, though it will probably end up close to novel length. 205.242.12.130 (talk) 17:21, 22 July 2009 (UTC)
Links
[edit]In the Bibliography, I clicked on 'Machine Man' (not the link arrow to the right of it but the title itself) hoping to go to a Wikipedia page for the book, but it linked straight to the author's Machine Man page (not the novel tho). Surely this link should be either from the arrow to the right, or in External Links? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.241.206.212 (talk) 22:59, 17 August 2011 (UTC)
- Well spotted. This is not even a link to an online copy, but just to a page promoting the recently released book. I will zap this link. Note that there are similar links to his short stories, but these do lead to online copies (which are mostly available under a Creative Commons license). HairyWombat 01:17, 18 August 2011 (UTC)
