I'm trying to find better sources. One question for the original author: The article says that it has an RI index ranging from 1.52 to 1.74. I've found a source saying that the RI ranges from 1.52-4. That's a big difference. I'm going to go with what the source tells me, but if there is conflicting information with a credible source, then don't hesitate to present it. I did find another source for refractive index: http://www.gemologyonline.com/mawsitsit.html and http://gemologyproject.com/wiki/index.php?title=Maw-sit-sit. It also states 1.52-1.74.
