Introduction
[edit]I think it is enough to say that "MH is a French violinist". That simple. Why? It is short, concise, says in a few words who is this man and what he does. --Karljoos (talk) 22:15, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
- Biographies of living persons should indicate why they are notable in the first sentence/paragraph. The fact that he has been in basically every orchestra in the US, Europe and Israel is pretty astonishing, and you should consider checking out Did you know?... and nominating the article. -- ʄɭoʏɗiaɲ τ ¢ 22:24, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you for your post. I really don't think it is neccesary. Other notable musicians such as Carlos Kleiber, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Alfred Brendel, Lorin Maazel have similar introductions. I think short introcutions just saying the name of the person, nationality, date of birth and profession (musician, polician etcc) are more objective and encyclopedic. --Karljoos (talk) 22:53, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
- See Wikipedia:LEAD, as it contains a written guideline as to what the style should be. Just because another article is similar does not mean that it couldn't be improved itself. -- ʄɭoʏɗiaɲ τ ¢ 22:58, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
