Two unreferenced claims
[edit]I've seen two additions to this article pop up without references this week. Both are probably correct, but it would be helpful to reference them (see WP:CITE).
1) "although officially still a village"--officially according to who?
This is true - almost all settlements in Botswana are officially classified as villages (some are informally called 'major villages' - likely including places like Maun, Palapye, Mahalapye, Ghanzi, Kanye, Mochudi). To quote the Botswana wiki here are the exceptions (the bottom 4 are all, or have been, 'company towns' to some extent):
01 - Gaborone City 02 - Francistown City of, 03 - Lobatse Town 04 - Selebi-Phikwe Town 06 - Jwaneng Town 05 - Orapa Town 07 - Sowa Township
2) The history of flight in Maun -- interesting stuff that just needs a citation (and then some wikilinking)

In Popular Culture
[edit]As I'm sitting at my computer working, the CBS program "The Amazing Race" happens to be on. It is not a program about which I know much or follow, but it got my attention when lots of interesting footage of Maun was shown. Not knowing where Maun was, I arrived here. I suspect being a key locale for a "reality" show seen by millions (of US viewers, at least) every week may make it worthy of a mention. I don't have the time myself but perhaps someone watching this page may find it fit to add. --Dhugot (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 01:09, 1 April 2013 (UTC)
- I went ahead and added an "In Popular Culture" section. "Be bold", they say! I hope someone watching this page will improve, correct and/or otherwise update appropriately. Thanks! --Dhugot (talk) 01:32, 1 April 2013 (UTC)
Proposed merge with Maun Senior Secondary School
[edit]This school should not be the subject of a standalone article unless it meets the WP:NCORP criteria. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 20:57, 29 May 2018 (UTC)
