Image
[edit]The image is covered under fair use. It's a promotional photograph. D. Wo. 17:08, 7 October 2005 (UTC)
- I'm concerned with whether this fits into the policy and ethos of how we deal with fair use on Wikipedia (since our aim is to build a free encyclopedia)? One policy is that we should use images under fair use only if "no free equivalent is available or could be created that would adequately give the same information" and that "if the subject of the photograph still exists, a free photograph could be taken" (from Wikipedia:Fair use). In the case of Matt Redman, it wouldn't be that hard, I would have thought, to obtain a free photograph. (I used to have one myself somewhere...I'll see if I still have it). For example, has anyone tried contacting Redman himself? — Matt Crypto 18:27, 7 October 2005 (UTC)
- And the update on this is! - we still have no photograph Kevinalewis 17:58, 22 November 2005 (UTC)
- I've added one I took in '96 at Soul Survivor. It's not great, but it's at least free. — Matt Crypto 08:27, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

Children
[edit]He has 5 children now though? http://www.mattredman.com/bio.php
- I have made an edit to indicate this, but am new at this and find it awkward to express without 'now' terminology. Putting it in so that someone can fix/improve it. Iaineditor (talk) 13:40, 11 August 2015 (UTC)

Image sizing
[edit]This edit set a thumbnail size. The fact it was done incorrectly (it's not a square image so should not use a square thumbnail size) is the first problem, but is minor as the code ignores the subsequent sizing values. The larger problem is that it undermines the problem it's trying to solve. If a visually impaired editor comes to the page, they likely have their preferences set to enlarge images to a minimum size. If there's a thumbnail size already set, that will interfere with that setting. If you think the image is too small, clicking through to the image is one option. If it has to be a larger thumbnail, setting it even larger is preferable. There are some editors who do not like images and intentionally set thumbnail sizes smaller using that same preference though, so we must respect their preferences as well.
