Will complete the review in 2 days. Thanks! TheSpecialUser TSU 23:56, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Despite the hard work, I fear that this is a tough one. Here are the issues which I see:

  • WP:LEAD should summerize the article which it doesn't and should not introduce topics that are not covered later
  • Prose- It is ok but not up to GA status and needs copy-editing throughout. Wikipedia:Guild of copyeditors can be helpful once this review is closed
  • Refs- some sources are unreliable while some are primary ones. Also, most of them are incomplete and need name of authors, date etc
  • Images- logo is copyrighted. captions need to be improved a bit and images need WP:ALT
  • Neutrality- as stated above, it needs copy-editing. Choice of words doesn't seem to feel good enough

This was merely an overview. It is possibly failing 4 of 6 criteria. TheSpecialUser TSU 22:54, 29 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ref needed
  • Images need WP:ALT
  • Remove the logo in The Ultimate Fighter as it is copyrighted material and should not be used in any article except the article The Ultimate Fighter

 Done - LlamaAl (talk) 23:56, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Books - is the book written by him or is he the subject of the book? I think that he has written it so no need of inclusion. Remove the section please

 Done - LlamaAl (talk) 23:56, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • MMA debut, Ultimate Fighting Championship, Early life and Championships and achievements - Many facts are unsourced so refs are needed

Done - I will add more references to the article within the next three days. It had 138 refs last week, now the article has 152. I also completed all the references which were incomplete, according to Template:Cite web. LlamaAl (talk) 02:49, 6 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'll be adding more issues as I review other things. TheSpecialUser TSU 17:08, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Great work so far and I see this coming close to a GA. I'm sorry for not responding. Some other thing drove me away but anyways, here are the issues:

Refs still needed
  • 2002 Grapplers Quest West Championships Middleweight Advanced Champion (2/23/02)
  • NJCAA All-American Team (Two times)
 Done - Very hard research.
  • NCAA Division I All-American Team (Two times)
 Done
  • Most successful Welterweight title defenses (Seven)
 Done
  • Defeated six different UFC Champions
 Done
  • Defeated all but one (Pat Miletich) of the other UFC Welterweight Champions while active
You can see this fact in List of UFC champions and Matt Hughes MMA record.
  • Most finishes in the Welterweight division (Thirteen)
 Done — Deleted.
  • Tied (Anderson Silva) for most finishes in the UFC (Thirteen)
 Done — Deleted.
  • Most wins in the Welterweight division (Eighteen)
 Done — Deleted.
  • UFC Hall of Fame
 Done
  • Fight of the Night (One time)
 Done
  • Submission of the Night (One time)
 Done
  • Seven successful title defenses
 Done
  • UFC Welterweight Championship (Two times)
 Done
  • This win made Hughes one of only four fighters (with the others being Kazushi Sakuraba, B.J. Penn and Shungo Oyama) to defeat two or more members of the Gracie family in mixed martial arts competition.
Done - I have deleted it.
  • Between rounds doctors ruled that the resulting cut was too severe to continue, and Hughes was declared the winner due to stoppage.
 Done
  • In the process, Hallman handed Hughes his first professional defeat.
 Done
  • He started a 18-fight winning streak at Extreme Shootfighting on December 11, 1998, including fourteen finishes and two wins in the UFC.
Done — I have deleted it. It was a mathematical fact.
  • Hughes went to college at Southwestern Illinois College, a two-year college located in Belleville, Illinois before transferring to Lincoln College, in Lincoln, Illinois and then on to Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois. His freshman and sophomore years, he made the NJCAA All-American Team, and his final two years he was listed on the NCAA Division I All-American Teams.
Done — I found a source from Lincoln College, it contains his entire wrestling career.

General fixes
  • The section Early career and Ultimate Fighting Championship should be under Career so please fuse both of them under a new section, Career
I've written the further review in my notpad but few things remain which I'll be pasting by tonight (have got a broken leg so I'm in a hospital). TheSpecialUser TSU 02:15, 26 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Nice. I hope you get better soon. Good Luck!

Great work on the article so far. The issues still exist are mainly the lack of refs as stated above. And as far as using ".com" goes, Sherdog.com can go as Sherdog while the other notable websites, don't need any change. Here are few required changes:

  • During their high school days they both played football and wrestled - "wrestled"?...it sounds a bit odd, can you re-word or re-phrase the sentence?
 Done — practised wrestling.
  • Hughes went to college at Southwestern Illinois College, a two-year college located in Belleville - college, college and college. 3 time college. Better like this: Hughes went to Southwestern Illinois College located in Belleville for higher studies,
 Done
  • Either remove Early career or MMA debut. Keeping both is merely useless as there are no other sub-sections.
 Done
  • "You are the greatest champion of all time" - was that all that Dana told? Please add a bit more.
Done — It is the only quote in my source. I think the whole frase is still relevant.
 Done
  • UFC Hall of Famer - Famer? Please re-word
In a lot of websites, from ESPN to Fox Sports or Sherdog, the UFC hall of fame inductees are refered as to Hall of Famers
I put: ...is an American mixed martial artist, UFC Hall of Fame inductee, and former two-time UFC Welterweight Champion.
 Done
  • A long-time member of Miletich Fighting Systems, Hughes left the Miletich camp in late 2007 to start Team Hughes. - there is nothing about this in the article. Whatever in the lead should be covered up later so please add up two or three lines regarding this in the article.
Done — In fact, it is actually covered in the section Return.
  • Refs in the lead - no need to use refs in the lead if the topic is covered later so remove them if possible (this is optional)
 Done — It is optional.
  • born October 13, 1973 - ref?
 Done
  • Please make mentions of Autobiography and Trophy Hunters TV in the lead as lead should be summary of the article
 DoneLlamaAl (talk) 21:18, 27 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • The last issue remains about lack of refs in the claims stated previously. Once done, I believe that this is a GA.

No need of any pings, I'm watching this :) I'll have a look at the article again.  Working TheSpecialUser TSU 01:17, 28 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
