Citations for second paragraph
[edit]I managed to improve the citations for the first paragraph of the article, but the second half also makes dramatic claims without citation. I nearly removed them, but I checked the Japanese version of the page, which makes similar claims and gives the name of one source: 嶋原一揆松倉記 (Record of the Shimabara Uprising in Matsukura).
Looking for that source, I found this—photographs of a historical Japanese document. So the source should be verifiable and citable, but I can't machine-translate any of it myself to check. But that was enough to keep me from removing the statements outright. Instead, I included the other Japanese source I found (the only source I could find stating that Katsuie was executed rather than committing seppuku) and a note that more citations are needed. If better citations are found the current one should probably be removed; it's not especially high-quality as a source.
The same claims are made on the Shimabara Rebellion's page, so fixing the citations over there would also be a good idea if someone fixes them here (though I imagine someone is more likely to fix problems there first).
