Famous Alumni

[edit]

Someone from the IP address 67.21.57.48 (probably someone at UVA) keeps removing Randall Munroe from the list of famous alumni. This pseudo-vandal likely is from Clover Hill and know Randall Munroe (or knew him) and has a personal distaste for him. The pseudo vandal added one Daniel Genovese to the list, and I will leave this name on as this person may have gone to Clover Hill, but I suspect this vandal is in fact Daniel Genovese. --Matthew 07:24, 5 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I consider myself more of a Super Pseudo-Villain, thanks though. Try going to a real engineering college and stop wasting your time on Wikipedia. Go ahead and ban me from editing, at least then I'll stop wasting my time.the preceding comment is by 28 67.21.57.48 (talkcontribs) : Please sign your posts!.

Please restrict entries in the "famous alumni" section to those people who are of sufficient notability to have their own Wikipedia article. — ERcheck (talk) 03:45, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

How about we leave off the famous alumni part altogether so some loser who has a couple crappy websites won't feel more important than he actually is. If you're going to exclude people just because they don't have a Wikipedia page, don't include someone who decided his own unimportant achievements warranted a Wikipedia site.216.12.67.242 15:19, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Randall Munroe is considered notable, and therefore merits mention in this article. --Matthew 20:50, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

He is not considered notable. Imjustmatthew: I believe that your view is even more skewed as you are personal friend or colleague of said subject. You seem to be the only party pushing to keep Munroe on the page. Still living in the area of the High School and an alumnus, I can assure that just about no one associated with the school would consider the individual notable, before or after graduation. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.251.234.239 (talk) 16:28, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The section is meant to serve as a cross-reference to other related articles in Wikipedia. Mr. Munroe has a properly cited article and passes our test for notability in that he has been non-trivially written about in multiple third party reliable sources. Notable doesn't necessarily mean "well known" in the context of our encyclopedia. Therefore I am putting the link back in and I will be watch-listing this page, unless someone comes up with a valid reason for its exclusion. Ashanda (talk) 19:13, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

no you and everyone else on his team are wrong. please leave him off. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.95.11.66 (talk) 18:30, 14 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Removed again, please stop calling him notable. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.238.178.218 (talk) 20:12, 2 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
